Found this on the Cougar forum. This makes me want a civic again :ugh: http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/01/craigslist-find-of-the-decade-930-000-mile-95-honda-civic/
I don't care what anyone says around here, hondas are the ****! But when a car is truly driven highway miles only, 1k mi is more like 5k mi. Things just hum along nicer when the car is just crusing at 3.5k rpm and warmed up nicely. Not as much wear and tear as constant cold starts, etc.
I almost got an ep3 last year. I love the interior on them. Put a supercharger on it and you got like 250hp
ya know come to think of it i heard about a subaru club for people with over 1mill miles on there subarus. from what i remember people had to transfer the motor to a different body since they would rust out.
A Saab 900 ran over 1 million miles^^ http://www.autoblog.com/2006/12/06/saab-900-passes-one-million-mile-mark/
the Subaru High Mileage club is for 100k or higher (hardly high mileage, IMHO...): http://www.subaruhighmileageclub.com/ but on there are a couple documented cases listed there of outbacks with more than 800k kms (about 500k miles) delivering campers. BUT, the most impressive high mileage car I've ever heard of, is, in fact, a subaru. here it is: an '84 GL Wagon at 1.7 Million miles. but it is on it's second engine. that's the same 200 mile/day average as that civic, except for 10 more years! the guy also owns an EA81 hatch with 450k miles. some info on it here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=76212
