A good handful of us here are running Clutchmasters and seem to like them. One big advantage of the Clutchmasters is their relatively stock feeling pedal feel.

As far as which clutch, that depends on current power level, goals for future power, and application (DD vs track). I think you will need at least a FX300 or FX350. I'm currently running the FX400 in my STI.

I know the FX350 is a dual surface, non-puck style clutch that has a high holding capacity and still relatively easy to drive. My FX400 is a sprung 6 puck with a higher holding capacity. However, my clutch is pretty "on-off" and if I daily drove it, it would drive me nuts I think. Perhaps I'm used to driving my saabaru most of the time (with a super light, super easy clutch) and its always an adjustment to jump into the STI. At the same time, some people swear that the FX500 (unsprung 6 puck) is more smooth than the 400.

If it were me and it were my DD, I'd shoot for the FX350 (assuming it can hold the power...I don't know numbers without checking).
If it were a weekend/track car, I shoot for the FX400 or FX500 if you're planning for a lot more power.

I'm running competition stage 2, it's fine. Feels just like when it was stock. Held 60+ launches with a rookie driver at the drag strip and still going strong. Not sure about the stage 3 though

You really love that car, dont you?

    It's a love/hate relationship.

It only has 40k on the frame
    15 on the engine
soon to be 64k on the sti tranny.

I really do not want to go to a 4-6 puck. I just want one that will hold up. The stock one was starting to slip and stink.

I see I have the option to go with a 5spd flywheel/clutch or a 6spd flywheel/clutch. It is pretty much the same price for more contact surface though.

I think even a fx300 might hold up, which would be pretty easy to drive. But also depends on your future plans for power.
Haha was thinking the same thing.

I had a horrible experience with a Stg 2 CCI clutch. Obviously, it doesn't mean you will have the same issue, but just wanted to give some feedback. The clutch I had was extremely aggressive and allowed nearly no slip. Fine for track, but not a DD. It wore quite strange and became very difficult to modulate; it became nearly a switch. I may expect something like this on a Stg3 or 4 clutch, but not a Stg2.

Other than the one excursion with CCI, I have exclusively used ACT and Exedy for my clutch/fw needs ('00 RS still has the 'original' ACT clutch despite the beating it takes, and the STi had an ACT before the CCI, and an Exedy was in it when it sold).
