Umm I don't recommend stock..Well if you care about your drivetrain warrenty then go ahead. If you are planning on some more mods just go with aftermarket.

When the clutch went on my 02' WRX, I chose stage 1 exedy organic, and went with an ACT streetlite flywheel...I don't regret either.

The stage 1 exedy is supposed to be stronger than the stock, and exedy manufactures the stock clutch, so I found it to be appropriate.
Feels about the same, actually the new one felt easier than the old one, due to the linkages and such getting cleaned/lubed.
To me it was a no brainer to do at least a mild upgrade.
Hrmm...the stock subaru clutch that only lasted me (and the previous owner) 60,000 miles costs the same as one that is stronger...it's going to be about $800 in labor to do the job, do you really want to do the job again any time soon?

I'll take the stronger one please!

+1 exedy stg1 for your light mods. Holds better and still drivable.
I'm getting the exedy stg2 I think for the '06+ WRX for my swap. holds to about 430ft lbs. Little TD04L is powerful if you make it breathe better in and out of the engine.
