So im putting a cobb short throw into an 04. No problems with installation until i try to reconnect the reverse lockout cable to the slider. Apparently the metal end of the cable sheath is too large to sleeve properly within the lever. The stock lever sleeving into the cable end (reversed to show the issue as both ends are the same diameter) can be seen here and the cobb here
Is this an issue with cobb's part?

the EXACT same thing happened to me!! i thought it might have just been a defect but if its on yours too? there is something wrong and cobb needs to fix that. Anyways , what i had to do is, you know the inside lip on the cobb sts where the reverse lockout cord is supposed to rest? You need to bore that out ever so slightly with a drill bit so that tip of the reverse lock out cord can fit in it with the lip below the tip resting on the lip inside the short throw shifter. Thats what i had to do. I can believe that this is happening more than once...

and you dont need to bore out the whole thing, just the inch or so on the bottom part of the new shifter so the cable can fit.

Yeah thats what i was going to do. But for how much my buddy paid for this part its obviously a production issue and is something Cobb should replace for me. I shot them an email and im waiting for a reply before i start modding the part in case of any return issues. Just wanted to make sure there wasnt something i was doing wrong. I scoured NASIOC and COBBForums and could find nothing about this issue, glad im not the only one with the problem though.

Thanks, very informational though they forgot the mention greasing up the slide points and zip tying the cable away from the drive shaft. Im going with incorrectly made part for sure. Ill try and get my hands on a caliper to measure the difference in ID between the two as the COBB is without a doubt smaller.
