anyone have a specific place you go for your daily cup of joe? I am trying to find a new good coffee shop. need something quieter and smaller than the ones on campus.
Idk what school ya go to but theres a chill place near the Twin Cities U of M campus called Wolves' Den. Its on the West Bank down Franklin Ave. towards the MIA, it'll be on the left near Aldi's grocery store.
Spyhouse - it advertised in The Daily 2451 Nicollet Ave. S., Minneapolis However, I never had a problem with The Purple Onion.
^LOL. so I drink tons of coffee, but most of the time I just make it at work, drip, espresso, or french press, just as long as the beans are fresh.
...french press.:yumyum: We should really hang out more phi11. lol Uptown Martin! There are tons of coffee shops in uptown. Bob's Java Hut is one I've gone to numerous times. There is also one on Hennepin and 9th I believe. What I want to know, Is where are the hooka parlors located? Haha, probably in uptown. Lawlz. Anyone ever been to a hooka hut? Hot tea and hookas.
pretty sure trees are only involved with the hookas, not the hookers. And there's probably very little of the hooker i'd wanna SNIFF.
I thought this was a huge deal with that smoking ban...weren't cigar shops and Hookah places complaining because they were gonna go outta business?
Well the difference between hooka parlors and cigar bars are night and day. The stuff they burn in the hookas contains .05% or .005% tar in it. When you smoke it, it's like inhaling flavored air. Not really the same as "smoking". So as far as I know, there should be no reason for them to have an issue w/the smoking ban. But I haven't even seen one up here in MN yet, so what do I know?
well they are pipe shops and they rent out hookahs and shesha for like 10 bucks. i havent been there since i bought mine before the smoke ban so im not sure if they still do it.
The spot I used to go to had 4 rooms with pillows surrounding a round table with the hookah on it. Picked your flavors of shesha and went back to the rooms. Then we'd order wine or tea and I think it was about $20/hour. Good times though. I must look farther into this and see if anyone would want to join me for a session.
its a paraphernalia store. best coffee shop is 28th and hennipin called uncommon grounds, i have been going their for many years, it is the best place to go in the summer and sit on the outside porch and watch all the cars and people go by. they are open till 1am btw. best thing they have is their chai tea.
last summer everyday day after the bar we would go over to my friends apartment and sit on the roof top patio and smoke hooka (well i didn't but they did).
yeah, I went to caribou college, ROFL (I'm kind of a coffee snob) is 'plan b' coffee house still open? I quit going to shops like 10 years ago. (spent alot of time at 'rudies', the old Rudie's Ska Cafe)
hot, is bomb...they have a secret recipe the owner wont tell anyone, i have asked him before, its imported from somewhere.
yes it still is..not a huge fan of it, and i am also a coffee snob...i was the best barista at my old job mind you we had 6 stores, i can do some latte art, and make drinks layered looking in glasses..
<<lb. of Caribou on the counter right now. I've go the Hamilton Beach 'Brewstation' for the regular grounds, a Krupps Capp/Espresso machine, and a Bodum 'French Press' from Caribou. LOVE mah coff33!!:jumpy:
my sister works at a caribou up here...she perpetually smells of coffee. and no, i don't sniff her either.
sure u finance it,and work your ass off. ill sit in back, smoke, and take in all the profit seriously thought. a hookah shop in my neck of the woods would do pretty good i think.
Uncommon Grounds was good, but my favorite place when I was in the area was Muddy Waters, I think it's at 24th and lyndale. Now I just make coffee and home and bring it to work. 100% kona is the best, otherwise either caribou blend or something fresh roasted from dunn brothers. If you want to try something a bit different, try Limu Coffee, it's up in new brighton, but it's a nice place. They used to be located right next to my old apartment, so I went there a lot. But when St Anthony did their redevelopment they basically forced them out of their location. http://www.limucoffee.net/
yeah me and a buddy went halfzies on it and he keeps it at his house. i'm not sure if hed be ok with a bunch of people coming over but if u wana host we can bring it over with some shesha maybe sat night?
Cars R Coffins Coffee Shop on 34th/Lyndale http://www.crccoffeebar.blogspot.com/ Yes, the irony is obvious but I also like bikes!
Damn! Saturday night I'm busy, but tonight or early Sunday eve. would be cool! I'll definitely host it if you bring the hookah and sheesha! Or if I can find the place to get it, I would grab the sheesha. Pm'd my #.
ahh yes Uncommon Grounds! I completely forgot about that place. I have to agree that their chia is out of this world.
If any of you drink esspresso, and happen to pass through siren, WI, try Chattering Squirrel...not much of a lounge atmosphere, but the smoothest esspresso (consistently) I've ever had.
