So I asked a while back where to find rattle cans of color-matched paint. Someone pointed me to Paint World So I though I would share what I've learned so far. I havn't had time to actually "use" this stuff yet, but I did spray 2 coats onto a chunk of plastic molding I had laying around my office. I didn't prime it, and I didn't clear coat it, but here is how it turned out. I think the whole kit was like $35.00 or something. On the far left of the stick, I really put it on really thick. On the "spot" just left of center, I put it on just a little thick, and on the center-to-far right, I did two even coats as I would when I applied it "for real." I think it should match close enough for me.
His Morettes. There's a shop that Brain Shorten recommended in NE Minneapolis (I think, it's in the BP Subaru parts thread) that will color match paint and put it in rattle cans too. I've got an HVLP gun set so I won't need the rattle cans, but I'll be heading there soon to get paint for the new fender and bumper cover). I'm going to be painting a whole car in the spring, so I guess the WRX will be my practice ground (wish it were the other way around, but that's life).
that does look pretty good. I got some stuff amde at welle auto supply and it worked alright. nto an exact match but good enough.
Dyslexic fingers. I pretty much type Brian as Brain everytime I type it anywhere, and then have to fix it later. I just did it again in the last sentence.
That's awesome...that would be perfect for sideskirts as they are textured and I doubt that you'd notice the difference.
