come to Detroit Lakes for the 4th

i just want to invite anyone and everyone to come down to Detroit lakes for the 4th, it gets pretty crazy and i wouldnt mind getting some subaru guys together. anyone interested?

 

Where is this detroit lakes you speak of?

 

I was thinking of going down to our cabin there this weekend, but the drive is not something im looking forward too.

 

its probably hard to explain how to get here, try a map quest on Detroit Lakes, Mn and youll see exacly where it is. i think there was someone coming down from moorhead mn, on the forum with his sti.

 

head west on us hwy 10..... its about a good 2 hour drive away from the cities..... and it gets hella crazy down there

 

I've gone for the last few years and it has gotten consistently worse every year. 5 years ago it was known as "the place to be" for the 4th of july, supposedly was ranked in some major mag (playboy from what i've heard). But the last few years its been a sausage fest IMO, the word spread about its grandeur and more and more guys flocked there for the weekend making it quite ghey. Not worth the 3 hour drive up again this year, not to mention the gas prices, hotel, food, etc.

 

Yeah same here around the same time 6-8 years ago.

My buddy had a cabin and we all heard the same 'story', girls everywhere, playboy mag, all that jazz. I don't know where the women are, but we never seen that many.

The parties at his cabin were great though. 50-60 of us camping on his land. We went through 28 kegs of beer that weekend one year and 20 the year before. I didn't stop pissing for the whole time I was there.

There is place to go tubing that was fun. About 200 people stopped at this hillside just getting wasted. That was good times

 

I was just there on saturday... my futur in laws live in perham. But now I am back in the cities... I will be spending all but one weekend up there this month. mostly for finalizing wedding stuff and getting married...

 

Negative, not in my STi, but i'll be there.

yep, whered you chill the whole time, i basically walk back and forth from the ghetto capri motel to where all the crotch rockets are parked all day

 

I drove up and down for a little, then talked to a few friends, one with a g60 corrado, dont know if you saw that but he just put in a crazy supercharger that whines really bad. Then i walked around and parked the sti away from all the crazy people.

 

yea we yelled at him, we thought his car was the ****..

i guess him and his gf are to cool for us

Im from DL, i moved up to Fargo last august for college. When is it suppose to be done? Maybe we could meet up or something and check that thing out!
