Does anyone know if all STis are wired for the Compass/Homelink/Auto-dimming mirror? Even if the car did not come with the mirror from the factory...?
i would guess no, since running wires for something that isn't there doesn't make sense. But then again i could be completely wrong, since i don't own one.
Remove the screws in the map lights in the headliner, look for a three pin connector in there I belive that is the power for the auto dimming mirror.
I think they all are actually. My '04 WRX came with just a normal mirror, and I put a Homelink mirror in that and it was pre-wired so I would assume that all of them are. I'm not 100% positive though.
its easier and cheaper to make one wiring harness for all impreza then to make several different ones. I am guessing the wires will be there.
It is a port installed item, so it is some random monkey that plugs it in once the car gets off the boat. The wires will be there. Russ
Pull the center map light down and look for the harness. From what I've heard they are all wired for the homelink/compass/auto dim. Being that the mirror is a dealer installed item it makes sense that they pulled everything just in case.
