Go! I don't recommend Kelly from Faribault. Guy answered & responded, "Yeah, what do you want" B&R were also asshats. List em!
Hi MN3.6R, I am asking for a comprehensive list. I think it'd be nice to have on this forum. Thanks, Gluiemo
Not sure what's going on here. And personally, if the owner is all business, that's fine by me. I'd rather have a car guy with no time for bull**** answer the phone and get right to business than have some butthole rambling on about the weather and how my day is. As far as "salvage yards," I'm not sure what we're talking about. I know there's U-Pull here in the Twin Cities area, and that seems to be popular.
Is the question mark because you are unsure? If so, I understand, it gets looser, I mean easier after the first time.
I always found it was best to make those that were new to the gangbang be the caboose. Gets you broken in faster.
I don't understand why people can't conduct themselves in a more appropriate manner online. I'm looking forward to completing my degree & having the ability to purchase a vehicle that kids can't afford so I won't have to deal with this any longer. Then let this thread go to hell. I had enough already.
ProTip: Just make sure you don't have kids after completing your degree. You think you can't afford stuff now...
Hmmm idk what cars those are, there are young kids with cars well over 100k so idk if your degree will get you away from kids. Let us know when you get there though, ill do what I can to buy one and piss on your parade there as well with a movie quote
Yeah, you are not going to like it here if this is going to be your attitude. Look at your first post, not even a real question much less a introduction on who you are. Post 2 you are already stomping your feet because we did not bow down to you. MNSubaru has been around for almost 10 years and some of us have known each other for longer than that. Most everyone here is friends outside of the forum, so when a new guy/gal comes in here and damn near demands us to list salvage yards, you are going to get some heat back. I suggest that you create a proper introduction thread so everyone knows who we are dealing with or just keep stomping your feet and leave. Russ
Pretty much exactly as Russ said. We like to joke as we are somewhat of a tight knit group. Maybe you can't take a joke? Regardless if you can put up with the occasional sarcastic response you'll see this community is full of helpful knowledgable people. In regards to the junk yards. There's 101 in Shakopee(haven't been there in years but its still open as far as I know) U pull was mentioned. Oak leaf is a newer one that posts here in the forums. Word to the wise, if you don't get the response you want right away getting upset and making remarks is not going to help you in any way. You have to understand, just like any group of friends there's gonna be a huge amount of inside jokes until you become acclimated to the group. Don't take stuff so serious. Really I would argue getting upset over some of these comments and that people aren't doing what you want them to is rather childish. Hopefully you'll be a little more light hearted and see that this community is pretty awesome. I don't own a Subaru anymore but I stick around........for the gang bang.
BAHAHAHAHA. I bet you're a blast at parties and social gatherings. "You people are so childish. I've got my degree and a Subaru." *raises eyeglass* STOP HAVING FUN! STOP IT! You may want to find a new hobby. Maybe take up chess or wood carving. Car guy attitudes range from silly to pompous. Silly would be the lower end of things, econo-boxes and other lower end import cars. And pompous, most of the top line luxury makes and exotics. The rest fall somewhere in between. Subaru owners are near the bottom in silly-town as well. The car isn't expensive enough to be as pompous as you are acting. BTW, if you're just finishing your degree and started college out of highschool, pretty much everyone that has responded to this thread is older than you. As mentioned above, good luck find a car that doesn't have 'kids' owning them. Hopefully you dislodge that stick from your ass and get over yourself.
Step one: Google 'junkyards in or around the twin cities'. Step two: Call junkyards to see if they have any Subarus. Step three: Act like a human when on the phone to said salvage yards, in my career as Subaru parts Jesus, NOTHING is more annoying that someone who THINKS they know everything, my favorite answer is "why do you need to know that? They are all the same" Step four: Get over yourself.
So are you trying to start a salvage yard directory and vendor review with this thread? If so, you're off to a great start with the lack of contact information and scathing reviews with little to no context of what transpired to make you think they were asshats. Let me guess, they didn't treat you with the respect that you think you're entitled to. Comprehensive? Good idea. Let's give it a little more thought though and break it down to some categories for ease of use. How about Subaru specific (not many of these), non-subaru specific (many more of these), whole cars, parts only (since there are bumper specialty stores and such), customer picked (like upullrparts), picked and on the shelf (like Johns auto and most online sources). How about some guidelines too. Like address, phone, email, info, etc... If you were to approach me in person, would you say "Comprehensive list of import salvage yards in Minnesota. Go!" If so, then I don't know what kind of response you would expect other than what you see in this thread. Deal with what? The internetz? How is purchasing a vehicle "that kids can't afford" in any way related to you choosing to post a vague thread on a local subaru forum? Probably because you came in with some misinformed preconceptions about how the interaction would go... Roger that.
Someone cross post this on nasioc, as he has buddies over there too. Furthermore, I-club, wrxfanatics, ect ect.
if you drive a legacy, i highly suggest you check out this meet. http://www.mnsubaru.com/threads/legacy-meet-thread.43407/
lol, nice thread, OP, instead of maintaining a list which will just get out of date, just use google or car-part.com to find what you need when you need something from salvage yard.
