w00t im guna have a real fun drive from duluth to rochester on friday.... i just hope it doesnt take over 5 hours.....
I'm thinking this warrants a trip to spirit mountain. :yumyum: Either way I want more snow its more hours at work and some fun out driving
I either picked the right or wrong week to go to Seattle. I'm still trying to figure out which, as the weather out here is a bit cool, but very tolerable. At this point it's even money odds as to whether I'm coming back
It better cancel work too... No wait, our company doesn't care if it's employees die on the way to work. As long as they get to work. Late? You're in trouble. You get in trouble for being taken away in the ambulance, too... so lets hope it cancels work and the state declares an emergency so I don't have to go on Friday (I have Thursday off hehe)
+1 to that. I flat out refuse to go to work if the weather is that sketchy. Alot can happen in 30 miles that I don't feel comfortable with for the next few days. edit: plus its a good reason for me to blow off work
I work for a financial firm downtown .. take your pick, you're probably right with the first one you can think of They have an 'inclement weather' procedure - that states if an employee feels uncomfortable driving in then they don't have to come in, but last time I did that I was the only one using it that day and I felt like an ass .. but yeah, you get an "occurance" if you get taken away in an ambulance ... they're pretty heartless even if they are generous with PTO (you gotta plan it first - my boss once said I needed to plan on being sick until I pointed out how incredibly illogical that was ... ) I work on a phone queue so they *gasp* need me whenver possible. Really all they need is an extra body to take the abuse the callers dish out. I'm looking for a new job ... heh
I'm guessing Dain Rauscher. My dad worked there when it was Dain Bosworth, heading most of their mergers and aquisitions until they sold to Rauscher. He said the new CEO was one hell of a ding bat.
Pretty close ... it's Ameriprise.. same difference though ....DR isn't THAT bad, but I'd rather go for ameriprise ... in our company all the CEO does is tell us propaganda, the third-party evaluators out in Manila are the ones who run the show ..
it hasnt been that long since we saw you, lol. you should definately swing by for some fun in the WAGACY OF DOOM!`
Stat, you coming over to my place to visit Kelly? If the snow hits like they say it will on Wednesday, we should all meet up at Firestone for snow mayhem. Weeknights are the best nights.
Dude, Martin, just like everyone else on here, you are more than welcome to come over whenever you want...just give Kelly a call first. He lives here now, you don't have to ask my permission.
If it's later on Friday, maybe they'll have things cleaned up by then. They did a surprisingly good job of clearing the roads down here over the weekend. Much better than usual, even the county road I take to work was completely dry today. When I got up to 52 Monday morning, I could hardly even tell it had snowed. Though it sounds like we might get more ice down here, so that could mess things up pretty bad. Watch out for troopers around Pine Island/Orinoco. Every time I've driven by the construction in Orinico lately, there's been a cop hiding somewhere. So many good spots for them with all the constuction signs/barricades.
i already got my dose of drifting in. every other car on the road going 5 mph ftl. i doubt i will be going out tonight
haha, I was on my way home andsaw a guy in a Cadallac Catera trying to go up a SMALL hill and just spinning like crazy. So me and my 2 passenger pulled next to him and asked if he needed help, but he was ok. I then proceeded to take off up the hill which he had been trying so hard to get up, when it hit me. This would be an awesome subie commercial. Of course at the end in giant red letters ot would say OWNED! lmao
I helped about 4 people get unstuck in Saint Paul/Minneapolis last night (while tooling around for perfect parking lots to defile). I loved pulling in right beside them, often into deeper snow, and hopping out to push. I didn't get stuck at all! On a side note...an '06 wrx doesn't get stuck in 2 1/2 feet of snow...if you keep moving.
