Somebody said there were supposed to be cool cars in these photos, but frankly I didn't see any cars at all :yumyum: http://www.autoblog.com/photos/sema-2008-sirens-of-sema/
Guess you weren't paying attention during your Greek mythology class: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sirens
Uhhhhhh ... everything in that article talks about how they lured people with song and/or music. I'm just sayin, they should have been given different names. Succubi, perhaps. Or Muses.
Muses...maybe. I don't think these women are meant to inspire much beyond an erection. Succubi would apply if they stole the soles of their male victims.
Try reading. Usually you stand less of a chance of looking like a moron if you read the stuff you link to. It says it numerous times in that article that the Sirens used song to lure people to their deaths.
Well, I guess if you are cherry picking things from wikipedia to support your stupidity, you could go with that one liner about Franz Kafka. Who better to take Greek Mythology information from than a fiction writing, German speaking Jew that lived in the late 1800's/early 1900's.
they had a thing for the sea going men..... I think sirens also existed on land? so is beauty the only difference between a siren and a banshee?
Hey Readymix, just have fun looking at the photos and have a laugh. The name calling behavior is really a buzzkill. I think the writer of the article used "Sirens" in the title because of the alliteration with "SEMA" and the story from Greek mythology that sirens were beautiful women who lured men, which is basically what they're doing at SEMA. That's why I jokingly replied to Aegis. Keep it light guys. This is supposed to be fun!
