Thought I should post this up here. For many years the Corvette club has held a 3 day event on the last weekend in May. This year is it Friday May 30, Saturday May 31, and Sunday June 1st. However this year the number of entered participants is FAR below average and that could eliminate this awsome event for years to come. It really is a GREAT track event. The people there are always nice to others regardless of what kind of car they have. Last year we had a Ford GT there and a Cobalt SS that killed MANY Corvette times.

Friday is open track and in order to do Sunday's event I think you need to either do Friday's event or have proof of prior attendance at a PCA, BMW, Russell, Bondurant or similar high speed driver's school. An SCCA or NASA racing license would also be acceptable

Saturday is the "Low" speed Autox where they basically just run from turn 2 until turn 9 and put cones up in a few longer straights to make a slalom. Max speed is right around 80mph.

Sunday is the high speed day where you get multiple runs at your best time for the entire track.

Saturday you usually get about 12 runs at around 2 minutes each and Sunday you get around 10 runs at about 2 minutes each.

They also have drag racing on Saturday as well but I don't know the complete details on that. I think it is like 20 bucks for 5 runs or something like that.

All in all this is in my opinion one of the BEST track events at BIR for the entire year. It would be great to see some of you Subaru guys there and see you putting the smack down on some Corvettes. BTW the cost is right around $150-$170 a day but it is WELL worth it for the amount of track time you get.

    Here's the official flyer:

I believe the first club I ever ran with at BIR was with the Vettes. Bunch of good people. I like vettes and I really enjoy seeing them on the Long TOP Fuel straight stretching its legs. I appreciate you posting this info, it would be a pleasure to go back and drive with this club sometime in the future once again.

    BUMP!

Bump the event is fast approaching.

PS Shibbs it would be kind of fun until you hit the straight and realized you were governed at 66mph hahahaha. Those 4 445/50/22.5's got some grip tho lol.

I may be up there to get some pointers from the Wagner's and check out the SIMS. I won't have a car in time for the event, but will be there for support of the event. Lets do it!
