I did last week! I'm running my 265/35/17 hoosier race slicks. Medium-hard compound tho, so I get some decent treadlife.
I am pondering putting them on, as my car doesn't go anywhere really so if it snows again it won't be a big deal. Then again, if it snows it won't stick around so why do I care so much? I wanna put Jason's on his car. Me likey those more than the winter wheels.
Put mine on today....well tested my 18 last night.....too big for my new car......so I have a set of 18 for sale.....Ill post them up this week.
I switched 2 on saturday, then realized that the car would sit for a week, but I still switched the other 2 on sunday. It LOOKS good, lol. and... :needpics:
I actually threw on my summers today too. Anyone have some 16" winterforces with decent tread they don't want anymore? pm me.
Our average temps are still only 42 / 22. We have been about 20 degrees above normal lately. I think it is still too soon to temp fate. I usually don't take my snows off until tax day. Many years ago 2 inches of snow stranded my Mustang GT on Gatorbacks in the work parking lot until the next day on April 12th one spring.
I'm with you on this one. I'm waiting till the overnight temps are 40+ before putting the summer wheels/tires on the leggy. I also want to wait for at least another good rain. I hate when the wheel finish gets sandblasted by all the road debris. I'm still waiting for my track/autox beater wheels to ship for the 911. Hopefully they get here before May. Ordered these in gunmetal: (pic taken from http://www.forgestar.com)
^ that is a very impressive brand logo - two horse heads and everything. 25 minutes to change them without air tools. I just couldn't wait. Friday: A slight chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 44. Friday Night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. Saturday: A slight chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39. Looks like Thursday night the snows go back on.
My intermediates will go on soon (retired LM25 tires from winter use to spring/fall/rally-x use). I don't really put summers on till temps get high enough to support them. Unfortunately, summer compounds have less grip in cool temps then cold weather compounds. In these temps, my LM25 tires out corner my RE01Rs.
i am at the intermediate wheel tire combo. winters are off. all seasons are on. need it to be warmer for the re01 to come out of the basement.
Im running Good Year- Eagle F1 all seasons this spring/summer...my falken azenis don't like rain, besides in summer it never stops raining.
I've been thinking about it. I might put the stockers and crappy all-seasons back on the '6 since I haven't put bigger brakes on yet. it's definitely too warm to keep running my Blizzaks, but too cold for the Ecsta 711s
I just put mine on yesterday. I figured even if it does get colder again i still got my company car to DD. warmer weather is mint
I will be waiting until in warms up my Nitto NT05's do not do well in the cooler temps, when it is warm out it is really hard to get them to let go of the pavement.
I'm holding off until it's warmer in the mornings. I just about put my car into the ditch on a cold morning in the fall. Falken rubber is too hard for early spring.
i am at the intermediate wheel and tire combo. Winters are off to save tread depth for rally x. All seasons are on, and summers are still toasty in the basement waiting for it to be a little nicer out.
I'm considering putting my intermediate combo on. Does anyone have any input on whether or not I should?
I put my commuting wheel setup on today. 550$ for 4 new tires and wheels. Thanks to the sweet deal I got on tires buy 1 get 3 free.
So style master flex, what color of wheels would you go with? I wanted flat black but couldn't get it without a red stripe around the outside. The car is painted Steel Gray Metallic which rules out most choices that look good with cgm except for black imo.
Haha whatever color the factory wheels are. I'm just personally not a fan at all of black wheels, on anything, ever... unless they are steelies for my snow tires. As demonstrated above its just so common I'm tired of seeing it. Though one could argue the same case with gold wheels (which I would take over black/most other colors any day of the week) a few years ago *shrugs* To each their own.
