I can prolly search and find some of this out, but i'm lazy and a wanna be post whore... So i'll just ask. I'm looking at downpipes... Basically I see that some are full length, and some are "shorties." It seems to me that full length eliminate the 3rd cat..? Anyway, which do you guys prefer/get the best gains/easiest to install/etc?? Second I'm looking at a few different cat backs.. I see a lot of STi cat backs for sale, and cheap. Is there much of a difference? Power/sound/? The STi insignia looks cool- that's about all i know. I want something quiet at cruising speeds and idle. I've been looking at SPT ones too, as well as prodrive. And getting one custom made. I understand it's all personal preference, but lets hear some opinions- I need to make a decision somehow. I've been looking at used stuff on nasioc and whatnot, basically because i'm getting over anxious to mod my car, and don't have the $$ to buy stuff new. thanks
Try a TurboXS stealthback with either the Magnaflow (standard, not the RFL), Prodrive or STI axleback. Those are 3 of the quietest options out there, but they'll still let you hear it when you get on it. They also keep from turning the car into an echo chamber when you are crusing.
I will attest to the STi exhaust, I have a turbo-back setup and it purrs like a kitten at any speed unless you go wide-open-throttle. It is pretty deep and relatively quiet, I give it :rockwoot:
