If anyone is looking for a 1/2" drive electric impact wrench, this is about as cheap as you'll ever find one ($84.99).

The Craftsman driver's don't have quite as much power as some of the high end ones($300 to $500+), but 200 ft-lbs is enough for lug nuts and most other non-stubborn bolts. And for $85 it's quite a deal. A cheap Harbor Freight one is usually about $120.

This kit is normally $140. With the 15% off deal right now I believe this should actually be $119. I'm not sure why it is listing as $85. Even on sale, $85 is actually the price of just the 1/2" driver (no battery or charger). So no matter how you look at it, this is a pretty nice deal.

OK, after I posted that I looked and it is actually that low of a price because it is on sale and there is an online discount right now.

That particular item is on sale for $100 (normally $140), and the 15% off online deal is applied on top of that.

Normally around the holidays these can go for as low as about $110, so this is still the best I've seen by far.

My buddy just picked up a Ryobi impact wrench for $99 (no battery or charger - tool only) and it's rated at about 200 ft-lbs as well. The Ryobi is an 18v...would this 19.2v have a little more oomph?

I agree! Perfect for track days!

It should be a little more power. And a way better deal. Battery and charger is probably $50 or more. I never had luck with Ryobi in the past. Not really a fan.

I have one of these and I love it. Its perfect for quick wheel changes. If you hit lugs right until the impact kicks in you won't over trq then a quarter turn with your trq wrench and your money.

I have also pulled this bad boy out on some stubborn bolts that a friends lil home air tank couldn't get and it did the job.

    +1 for this.

    Cool, thanks for posting.

I have a John Deere 3/8" cordless impact that I've been using for years and it makes any job much easier and faster (especially for removing/reinstalling lug nuts on extended wheel studs!). The batteries are getting old, so I may pick one of these up.

Does anyone know if the charger that comes with the impact can also charge the lithium-ion batteries? Or would I have to get a different charger to charge lithium-ion batteries? I was thinking about picking up an extra li-ion instead of ni-cad.

You need the lithium ion battery charger. The li-ion one will charge the ni-cad batteries though.

Yep, you need the other charger. It is usually better to just buy something else that comes with a lithium battery and charger. It's basically the same price as just the battery and charger. So you can get a drill or something for free. That's what I did.

I will never buy another NiCad rechargable battery again after experiencing LiIon.

Expanding on this. This is the Lithium Ion battery/charger combo. Normally $80, on sale for $65.

    http://www.sears.com/craftsman-c3-19.2-volt-lithium-ion-battery/p-00935710000P

A few months ago I bought this combo. It has the LiIon battery and charger, but it also has a drill and a 3/8" quick connect driver.

    http://www.sears.com/craftsman-c3-2-piece-lithium-ion-drill-and/p-00935701000P

I'm not sure why it was so cheap, but I got it for $85. At the normal price of $140, then you are probably better off getting just the battery and charger, but if you see a good deal you can get some more tools for almost "free".

Why do you say this? Is it performance over life? I do like my LiIon more, but mainly because it's lighter.

Surprisingly the 1/2" drive impact already showed up! Very fast shipping.

I decided to take some photos to compare the 1/2" drive to the 3/8" drive and the NiCad battery to the LiIon battery.

*Note: 3/8" drive is used and that is why there is discoloration on the grips.

Now, with the batteries swapped around. They are nearly the exact same height like this.

Looks like the 15% online deal is gone, but still good prices.
