dang i would get impatient waiting for that to spool up.....im sure it blows you away when it does though
Probably to compete in a certain NHRA class. I'm sure if he went to 2.5L, he would be bumped to a different class or something. And if that is the STi 2.0L, then it spins to 8k right out of the box. And with a turbo like that, you want a nice long rev range. The 2.5L doesn't spend enough time in the power band with a 42R.
Look at the pics of the manifold. It is not divided into the turbo. Hence no twin scroll. The turbo is capable of it, and he has the cylinders paired correctly, but didn't take that last step. Plus, it cannot be twinscroll with only one point going to the wastegate. He might see some benefit, but not as much as if he plumed them in independantly. I wonder if a 44mm wastegate will be enough for that turbo.
No problem boys. You can ridicule me later for being a geek. :wiggle: I think he might get some sort of a twin scroll effect since the gap is small, but it could be better. Also, I wonder how efficient all the piping before the turbo will be. I see he had it all coated. I bet it will scream on the top end though, and from the looks of things, that's what he's going for.
