Recently made a couple custom fiberglass sub boxes for the left and right side of my trunk would there be any interest in anyone ordering any i would like to know if it would be worth my time to pull molds of these or not
If you end up doing this, include a few stepped 10" opening mdf rings that can be screwed to the 12" ring. The speaker won't sit flush of course, but gives more options. Also, heads up that there are some on the market already at around $300 per enclosure. So budget your materials and time cost using that as a benchmark (carpet them instead of spending days sanding). Also, post up some pics of your work!
yea we were thinking 300 a piece or 550 for a package type deal and they will fit 02-04 and definetly good ideas well have pictures up soon just wanted to see if this would go anywhere first otherwise were just gonna make the one set for the car and save money on pulling a mold of them
and were planning on pulling a mold of the front and back so we would be able to custom tailor to 10" aswell if we get enough interest
also about carpeting them were actually doing a bondo serface over the fiberglass so if we do decide to pull molds we will after the master set be able to cut down hours of sanding time by being able to make it close to perfect the first time
so far thats how there looking these things are tanks i also have a bit more updated info i had thought after looking at a website already manufacturing only a right side that they would only fit 02-04 trunks but actually fitment should be 02-07
next step is to get some wooden rings cut then were going to place them with some dowels and stretch fabric give it a nice coat of resin and some paint done we will keep you posted with updates and pictures we also have a junk copy that had signifecantly less coats that were going to take a video of us continuing to attempt to break it to show are strengh and quality
