Hey there, Anybody else here doing the Autocross on the 23rd in Chippewa Falls? Look here; www.cvscc.org I did this event last year as my first Autocross. I got 2nd in my class and 8th overall out of about 40 cars. It is a shorter course on some beat-up blacktop. If you come, you will see my latest two creations. Since 04, I have been playing and prototyping many different short throw shifter set-ups. I have the shortest throw shifter. It has 3/4" (19mm) movement from 1st to 2nd gears.(stock 6spd STI is about 3-1/4") I have added a great feature which adds position adjustablility. I will have two shifters with me to try in my car. A) Hurst T-Handle with adjustable throw positioning system (it doesn't matter if you have long arms or short arms, it will adjust to suit your needs) B) Hurst Pistol Grip with adjustable yaw positioning system (if you are familiar with ergonomics or human factors, you know what I am talking about.) *note: All adjustments can be made with no tools and in less than 2 seconds ........I am just getting feedback from my ideas, no plans for production or anything like that in the immediate future.
I'm registered for it but maybe/maybe not. It's getting close to wedding time and my bachelor party is on saturday, so leaning much more heavily towards "maybe not" now... I will make the final decision tomorrow and send in for my refund.
Happy Wedding to ya! Ya, I'm sure you will be in no shape for the Autocross, atleast I wouldn't have been the day after my bachelor party.:eek4: OR, maybe you can make it part of your bachelor party and bring the whole gang with ya'. So, are you the other STI or one of the WRX's? Jon
I'm Signed up, and will be there for sure. i'm betting zak finds him self with a wicked hangover sunday morning, so i wouldn't plan on him being there. i'm actually rather interested in your shifter mechanism, as i've yet to find something i REALLY liked in a shifter. i settled on a OEM STI model short shifter, being that it shortens up throws and doesn't lower the height of the shifter it self. if your looking to turn one out, make one about 2-3" taller than the stock shifter, but shorter throw. IMHO the smaller distance between my hand on the steering wheel, and my hand on the shifter, the better.
Hehe....now 4 STis in STU...good times for sure! The other Evo MR driven by Don ....... is wanting to gun for us as well. We can't let a newb beat on us.. Glad to see you're coming Rich. Did you get the camber plates yet?
Saw the short throw shifter today in person.. its pretty sick I'll be there on sunday, but only untill 3 unless I can get work off
ugh... what time is it....? I just finished putting them in w/ the Prodrives. Always takes longer than expected, even when you know exactly what you need to do. Falkens are on, I'm as prepped as I'm going to be for quite awhile...
Too late to sign up???? Where is this program located at???If too late i might just wanna come check it out..
registration is open until 75 entries are paid You can enter the day of the event if there are not 75 cars entered yet. Check out the entry through; www.cvscc.org okay?
