d3o- The new armor

    I recently learned about a new 'practical' technology that common people like us can use. I've often either had to wear my body armor during dh/freeride biking and suffer the heat and bulk or go without and pay the price when crashing hard. I'm so pumped because there are a couple companies offering shirts and pants with this. right now I'm tracking down a beenie filled with this material for snowboarding. (check out the 3rd video link)

    Although d3o doesn't sell their product themselves, there are a number of companies starting to offer the d3o armor in their equipment.

    horray my huge park knee pads will be going goodbye!!! i get so sick of them catching on the seat for no handed tricks.....

    thats some cool stuff. I have heard about similar things before but have never seen them tested. I want some of that stuff.
