Is there any way on a 2005 WRX you can make it so your daytime running lights are not on unless you turn on your headlights, or anyway that you could possibly turn them off?

When you're parked, if you set the e-brake they should turn off if the light switch is in the off position. If you're looking to drive with them off there should be some way to bypass the wiring or trick it into thinking the e-brake is on. I'm sure someone on here has done it and will chime in.
fyi, include the type of car when posting tech questions. http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showpost.php?p=601953&postcount=1 ;)

Looks like the same one I pulled on my 05 LGT, mine was under the driver side though. Been running without them for the nearly 4 years I've owned that car.

I did that and it worked for a couple weeks then it stopped working. I've been too lazy to go under the dash so now I just drive with my HIDs on 24/7.

Believe me, I know. Shibbs showed me how to do it one night at Firestone. Worked fine for a bit, then stopped. I had them well taped off too. I suspect JDM gnomes.

The thought of you and Eli throwing clay is too much to bear.

Mine is a brown clip to the RH side of the DP just in front of the firewall.

I don't want to draw attention to my vehicle when I'm stalking people.

I Unplugged the big brown clip under my dash, and my car wouldnt start up. It would just keep cranking but it would never start up. Did i unplug the wrong wire, or do you do it differently on a 2005 WRX

IF you don't leave the headlights on 24/7. A sub-optimal solution for sure.

Well, in my 09 FXT, it runs the high beam lights at a lower voltage (iirc 4 volts), and after a few months, the bulbs turn a brownish/yellow and when you go to actually use your high beams, you basically get nothing out of them.
