kevins civic. funny dude. on the contest.... topics could be a bit better but what do i expect. this sight doesnt have many photo savy people. i was hoping for more of a photography theamed contest rather than it being a joke. but like i said. what did i expect
yes kevins civic, damn that thing is badass. wonder why he didnt have the 6inch diesel muffler tip on it then haha. i need to talk to that kid, its been a while, last time i saw him he was over at firestone in his goat.
I think we should post suggestions for the winner of this month. That way we can at least have some input into what it will be. I think some good examples for next month... Grayscale macro or we can just pick a color, like blue or green or red or something What do you guys think?
i feel you on that. id love to see this contest taken a little more seriously. it was set up to be a photo contest and not a wow thats a funny picture contest. but if i ask too much i know people are going to attack me saying that its just going to make it a contest for the good photographers... but if people dont take it seriously they wont get any better photos. id love to see more photog's come out of this forum and maybe the contest that gives everyone a chance can help drive them to do better each month. its kinda offsetting for me to want to try my best at capturing a great photo in both subject and composition (id push for better composed pics in the contest winners) when its not going to even going to be appreciated as a photo. no offence to the first months winner but... really?... not to mention that some of the photos were just of cars in random places. i picked out an image that took me about 2 hours of shooting and post proscessing to create and it barily got voted for. the more serious we take the contest the better we will all get with our photography skills. dont make this contest a joke
Congratulaiotns to Snbrd4evr who wins the Chipotle card and Police Impreza!!! What's the new topic!?!?
While agree with most of that, it is MNSubaru, everything here is a joke. Nobody takes anything serious and everything will continue to be a joke. I would love for the contest to be more involved, but at the same time it also needs to be open to everyone. If we want something creative and with a shallow DOF, not everyone can do that. Then more people will be butthurt. It is a lose lose problem and the only way around it is too have fun. Or start your our "serious" contest, but when we only get 7-8 people for a open contest don't expect a huge turnout to something a bit more serious. Russ
because someone doesnt win gives them the insentive to try harder or read more into the skill. you really dont need anything special to take a good pic. just a camera. i didnt start out with a Dslr camera. i started out with a little pocket point and shoot camera with only 6megapxls. i got good with that camera before i even thought about getting something better to shoot with. a good photographer isnt made with the camera. its made with his/her eye for composition and creativity. i wouldnt ever exclude people for not being able create certain effects with their shots. a shallow DOF doesnt need to be used to create a good photo. its more about exposure. a good exposure can take a picture a long way. no matter what camera was used to take it. thats why i like how this photo contest is set up. but if someone doesnt win because they didnt try something that should make them try harder. if they get butthurt because their random snapshot wasnt a good photo then they are really looking at the contest in the wrong way. failures are their to drive us towards success!
