Any opinions, thoughts, or experiences from you guys will be greatly appreciated.

I’m in the market for a new (used) car right now and I have these two cars in mind. One is a 08 Forester X and the other 08 Impreza (Hatch) w/ premium package. They both are in the same price range.

I’ve driven both car last week and I really like the Impreza because of the safely features window/ side curtain airbags and traction control. The only bad thing about the Impreza is the lack of cargo spaces compare to the Forester. The Forester is nice and roomy but the car feel really choppy and it rattle a lot even for a 08.

But here is the question, would you consider buying a rental/ lease used car? Even it still has factory warranty? I know with the rental all break-in procedure is pretty much non-existence. :(

Let me know what you guys think.

    Thanks

ahahah you guys are funny. Rentals are fine especially for Subaru's. I would rather buy a rental return then a lease return. People beat the crap out of lease returns also. Here is my point.

If you were leasing the vehicle would you do any maintance on the vehicle at all? Sad to say that half of the lease returns we recieve are garbage and takes us a lot of work to get it back to normal. Vs a rental return where they have to keep the maintance up for us to consider to purchase it back. Remember most people who rent Subaru's aren't renting one for just a joy drive. If it was me I would make sure they did the inspection and show you there 88 point inspection.

Now when it comes to your choices John its really up too you. I like both cars and after owning a SUV I would reccomend a Forester just because of the room. You never know when your going to need it. But then you give up a lot that the Impreza offers which sucks. Or you could just purchase a 2009 Forester from me and call it done. hahah j/k:biggrin:

Foresters are notoriously noisier... after all it is a brick aerodynamically speaking...

and virtually the same chassis... so either way you are buying the impreza only one has more cargo room...

Older FXT maybe? You can hop into one that's a few years old quite easily, then toss in some suspension upgrades to get the ride the way you want.

...unless you specifically want the new models...

Then in which case I have no clue.:laugh:

    ...maybe...

wait for the Exige to come to America??? :ugh:
