Driving out from work last night I notice something covering the road (a nice thin layer), and I'm thinking it looks like corn. So I drive another 50 feet and see more than 25 deer standing on the road. Turns out some farmer didn't have the truck setup right and spilled a ton of corn over about 1/2 mile of road directly outside of where I work. Since this road is only used by 3 farmers and the people I work with the traffic is really light most of the day. I have a feeling I'm going to be seeing deer every night for weeks.
That's a relief. When I first saw the subject line I was worried it was going to be a "Totaled my car by hitting a deer tonight" thread. Glad it's not. Stuart.
I was down in Austin doing some work at one of the Hormel plants. At lunch everyday on our way back we'd take a sideroad that had woods along the westside of the road and houses along the east. One of the houses had bird feeders in their yard and the deer would come across and eat the fallen seed. The boss and I counted 13 of them in the yard, on the street, and on the shoulder staring at us. Wish I would have had the camera because they didn't move until I hit the Hellas. Seemed to be a daily routine for them though.
And if you were to wonder how many hot dogs have made it into deer, just ask the guy from Superior, WI that got arrested for doing that very thing...
Hey Josh do you get down there (Hormel/Austin)often? I was just down there this morning and will be back on wednesday. Do you get to play in any of the messy:yumyum: areas. And just to keep the thread sorta on topic lets read the frist post again
