Anyone ever tried one of these. In principle they should work great. Just wondering if anyone has actually run one before.
I wanted a little more power without affecting my tune...I've currently got an up-pipe project I'm working on then I'm getting the Koyo radiator altho I may get this first.
You will need to be tuned to make use of it. *EDIT* Get the radiator. It will be more beneficial for the dollar. The Cryo2 kit costs nearly the same amount as the Koyo radiator. I was going to get a CO2 sprayer before I got tuned last time. I mentioned it to Jorge, he said, "You'll want to get that before the tune because it needs to be tuned for."
No. In the winter, ambient temps are below 32 degrees...and your ECU measures ambient temperature...not intake charge temperature. It assumes the intake charge temperature will be close to ambient temperature. If you cool your intake charge to 32 degrees with a Cryo2 system and the outside ambient temp is 90 degrees, your ECU will be expecting an air density that is based on air that is 90 degrees and will actually get air that is more dense due to it being chilled by the Cry02 system.
I would definately save your money and get your radiator upgraded. Maybe even a big oil cooler. Those two items will help you alot more.
That too. I had a sprayer ring lying around. It is pretty easy to make. You can make yourself a setup that is good for a few shots with a 20oz CO2 canister for paintball guns, some steel braided line and some paintball air fittings. You'd also need some sort of valve. Could probably be done for under 100 bucks
Well if a tune is required even a dyi one isn't an option for right now...maybe down the road tho. Radiat0rz first methinks.
I agree with the Radiator, I already got mine a while back and it helps...Honestly the Oil cooler didn't help much, other than taking space in my engine bay, so I pulled it off...I agree on tuning your car with the cryo as well, But I've read some folks installing it and not getting tuned, and it still gets you about 20-30hp, but it throws off your MAF. If your tuned for it I think you can push it to 50+hp. The only reason I why I would get it, is to help the lag from the bottom lower RPMs to get the turbo spooling....And no, not the VF34, I'm planning on going bigger.
I'll probably do the radiator once Perrin ships back the correct lower ic hose. I'm going to give Josh a call at import image and then I'll let you know, Ray. I'm going to pick up one of the Koyo's.
i was thinking about making a IC sprayer for my car when it was turbo. just use a 5lb tank or something maybe even a 20lb or 50lb tank and spray NNNAAWWZZ on it for extra power lol.
Tintmaster has them for a decent price right now... http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12295
