designs for 08 wrx grille? ideas?

alright guys, we all know the 08 wrx grille is fugly. i'm trying to come up with some alternative designs for it. any ideas? feel free to photochop.

Yeah, I was thinking that too.


But supposedly it still makes the same power as the '07s. I wonder what those will be able to do with just an intercooler upgrade/re-flash. Don't the '07s make just as much power as the sti's with that treatment, or do they have to switch the turbo and injectors too?

 

the new setup is exatly the same as an LGT, totally different intake manifold and throttle body placement

supposedly the smaller LGT/08 wrx intercooler is much more efficient and does the same job as the larger 02+ wrx intercooler.

Pretty sure I've seen this design before on another car, but it would really tie in with the newly designed body. The people at Subaru are opening the doors to new ideas.

 

So who's going to buy it first so we can view this baby up close?

um yeah that was very easy. i was thinking the same thing. looks very HOT! i would take one

 

i think my favorite so far is tangled's first try on the black one. that is the jdm/spt optional grill....tangle added the subaru symbol delete. looks pretty hot.

 

kinda defeats the purpose of YOU coming up with the designs if everyone else posts there own.... :biggrin:

 

You know no mater what grill you put on the new subarus they still look gay.

 

I happen to like the blk/dk gray ones with the spt grill.


And a couple naca ducts in the hood would be pretty sweet. What for i dunno...

Painting all the crome on the grill flat black(same color as all the black plastic) or to match the body color. crome never seems to work on subaru's.

yeah. the black jdm above with no subaru emblem is definitely my fav so far. i'd also like to see one that is basically completely gutted

mods, please close this thread. this thread isnt a thread about grimmspeed paying big bucks from some idea that either of you(bummpy/steveo) have. i could brainstorm over hundreds of pics on nasioc if i wanted but i thought it would be cool if we could get some cool idea that came from local minds and you'd be able to see it on cars around the country. :roll:

 

its a two sided coin. If you're going to sell something and you solicit ideas this is always going to come up, i don't see whats unexpected here.

using their example suppose you do market and get rich off of some grille someone here designed, and its seen on subarus across the country. I'm sure that person would get a great sense of satisfaction for "doing it for the scene" while someone else is out spending money that hey have a right to.

the phrase "do it for the scene" is what killed electronic music, because it lowered the expectation that anyone would be compensated for anything, or else they would be subject to being called uncaring for not doing it. its starting to ruin subarus too. At the end of the day someone makes money, and demographic research is the burden of the product producer. You want free ideas for something you will sell for profit, you have to have a little thicker skin when its mentioned that the potential designer might be receiving zilch in return

 

either way, please close the thread. i'll ask for help where people dont beg for money for some photochops.
