i am in need of new tires for the miata. I want to get a set before winter so i can drive around before snow comes. So i thought i might as well get new wheels too. So i came down to two options. I can either get Kosei K1 in silver 15x7 or stock 2002 rims that are 16x6.5. Kosei will run 716 with kumho ecsta shipped to my house. The 2002 rims are 280 in good condition, plus the tires will be around 350 or so installed. here how the car will look with both. And here are the kosei's And kosei's are under 13lbs. And i think 2002 rims are 15 i think.
They all look too big IMHO (yes, they're 15s, but compared to the car). give it bit of a wagon wheel look. Unless you want 15s for tire selection (or somehow they need it for brake clearance, whcih doesn't look to be teh case), drop downa size or two. Save $$$ and weight.
yeah tire selection on 14s kinda sucks. I think 15" is the perfect size for the car. Does tire rack ship wheels to your door or someone needs to sign for them?
Ok, not sure what i am going to do at this point. But i found a guy on mnsc who is selling Rota C8's in black with polished lip with brand new tires for 500. I might just jump on those. They are 15x6.5 with a 38 offset and i think they are 12-13 pounds. Here is a pic of them on a miata. Not black but similar
I kinda like them all. But its hard to decide which once would be best. I am really leaning towards the rotas, cause they are much cheaper than others.
i wish, they are like 170 a each. TireRack has a special for 115 yeah on silver. I am going to see how rotas look and see if i can get them for 450. If i can i will take them. And will have extra for a roll bar.
exactly what i think everytime someone puts up threads like this.... if you want to know which wheel might be better for track use then people might give you good feedback but just wheels in general is kinda just off how much you like the way they look. just get what YOU like. its YOUR car. and should reflect YOUR own taste
