that ugly one, that everyone thinks is the charcoal thing...
so after work today I might lift it up in a heated garage...

should I really be tinking with this thing?
or is something I should just call in, pay my 100.00 deductable and let warentee fix it.

is it somewhere where I can easily look to see if all the hoses are in tact?

I guess what i'm saying is... i'm comfortable working on my own car, but if this is more electrical, then simple hoses and pluming.. I would rather take it in and let the warentee do its thing...

    advice from ye old schoolers.

I've had that damn cel forever. I went under it one night, and I consider myself a pretty decent electrical guy. I pulled back the coduits and tape and found some seriously fugly wiring. I rewired it, soldered it (correctly) and thought that was it. I then noticed that one of the wires (yellow) came out of the molex connector that connects to the cannister. Well, I tried shoving it in there, and it appears to be connected, but the cel is still there. I've just come to terms with the fact that it will forever be there.

I have heard that it's upwards of $400 to fix!!!! WTF!!! it's crappy stock wiring that gets all FUBAR'd from snow, salt, moisture...Lame.

Just jack the car up, and you will be able to see everything (behind the rear pass tire). Be sure to check the wiring...it's terrible from the factory.

That canister is pretty simple to get at. Why not try that?

Let me guess, you unplugged the wire harness or one of the vacuum lines from the valve under the intake?

lol, you know... I was soooo tired putting that thing back in, I somehow must have missed putting the hose back on the t, or it slipped off...

either way, I finally got under there and checked every single hose for cracks, or breaks.

was the hose that connected to the "t" from the valve to the "t" that was off.

I'm just really hoping right now that driving around for that long of a while with that hose disconnected didn't hurt anything.
