whats the difference between the subaru engines. is the 2.5 rs, wrx,and the sti piston sleeves or blocks all handle the same? aint it just the compression on the piston why both the wrx and sti can boost more? i want to boost more in my 2.5 rs. advise will be all good.

To boost more safely, you need some lower compression ratio (CR) pistons. Running 8.5:1 would be nice. If you want lots of power, like say 400bhp, then maybe running 8.0:1 would be better, as you don't detonate/knock.

WRX and 2.5RS have open deck blocks, JDM WRX STi and USDM WRX STi have semi-closed (reinforced) blocks.

Compression ratio is the difference in boost levels. You only boost 7psi, but that's like 16psi in a WRX.
