Differences in boxer ingitions and i-4 ignitions

    What are they? Is it that much of a difference?

    not much...MSD makes an ignition kit for DIS systems, its called DIS 4...its supposed to have hotter spark, some sort of two step rev limit...and so on its been dyno proven though

    The msd stuff will not work on the wrx or sti. is will work on the 2.5 rs just because of the way the coils on those work. IIRC, the wrx and sti coils have the igniters in the coil, so it is just a signal wire going to the pack. So to make the msd work on those, you would need to bust open the coilpack and wire it up inside the pack. I still think it is funny that autozone tells my there is spark plug wires on my car (there is a part number listed for it in their comp).

    IIRC, the Subaru rally car uses the stock ignition system. I could be wrong.
