So i know that i'm not the only subaru driving dubstep follower on mnsubaru! Post up some of your favorite songs, artists, or remixxxes. Dirty basslines and bust your head open type beats! Love it,love it,love it I'm totally hooked on PhuturePrimitive, FluxPavilion, Mimosa, Eoto, Skrillex... and this DJ Fresh remix!\/ Favorite Phutureprimitive song at the moment\/ Who are you into?
I've been venturing into that a bit, I like Flux, Dead, Skrill, Nero, Glebstar and looking for others that I like. Some of the super off the wall stuff I dont really dig, but overall its def got my attention.
Ya, I've been listening to dubstep for about 3 years. Heard some Benga stuff then from their I was fawked. Its pretty crazy how its getting so popular now. I remember when people thought I was talking about a band when I say Its dubstep
I dig it! Anyone seen the GoPro commercial with the guy bombing the waterfall in the kayak? Sounds like Skrillex to me...can anyone confirm? I'm aslo a huge deadmau5 fan thanks to Lexie. Also, EOTO, if you haven't seen them live, i would strongly suggest doing so! They rocked out hard at Rothbury and also played a really good set here in Minneapolis when they were in town. Also...
I've been getting pretty good about knowing the artist just by their individual styles. And GoPro FTW when it comes to choosing music for their commercials! I remember the first time that i saw the downhill skier with the GoPro helmet mount and they had Glitch Mob's "Animus Vux" playing to it. Can't go wrong with GM and Skillz! ...this one!
What is the appeal of dub-step anyway?.... maybe this is what it feels like when you are starting to get old.
The appeal to me is the same as it is with anything else. Like Jambands with no vocals, some people just dig the instrumentals. That's why i enjoy EOTO so much too, the live instruments with the synthesized dubstep bass lines mixed in just creates a sound that works for me. Big Gigantic did a cut called 'Step Up', the percussion and sax are both "live instruments", the rest is synthesized...you should see them live! Great shows every time!! I tried to grab a live recording off of youtube, but all of the sound quality sucked pretty bad. This was about the best one\/. enjoy! recorded... live...
I really enjoy the remix of some songs, or sounds of things your used to like mixing in a popular song or remixing something with lyrics. I get sick of the dubstep that has no words in the music, and gets old fast without some type of vocals. along with good drops and well timed good sounding wubs
Haha, I might have to get this one.... http://www.districtlines.com/24314-DIRTY-FILTHY-GRIMEY-Accessory/Dubstep
Lol, it's just one of my many music loves 3rik. I still dig some headbangin music too! Also, blugrass has been getting play on my radio more than anything else these days. I'll still love you even if you don't respect me. .....Me i'm still out flyin! haha...great song!\/ Railroad Earth-"Head"
Sick of Skrillex to be honest with you. Been following Bassnectar as of late. Great mix of Deftones Prince http://www.youtube.com/user/BassnectarLabs#p/u/45/SEkbaVeYgWA and Ellie Gouldings Lights! http://www.youtube.com/user/BassnectarLabs#p/u/7/nGlIDlOqurA Dont know why they wont embed, but both are my two current favorite songs. also listen to Rusko, Pendulum, Pretty Lights, Nero (welcome reality is a great album!), deadmau5(not dubstep), flux Pavillion
I love some Glitch Mob! I have the Drink the Sea album which "Fistful of Silence" is off of and also "Animus Vux" which was the song that GoPro used for their commercial. They do have sets that they do that are dubstep(see "Crush Mode" below). I saw them live at Gothic in Denver a couple of years ago with Alexis during News Years Eve. Check this out>... Also, if you have 40 minutes, listen to the whole thing, otherwise for GM Dubstep sample, start at 8 minutes on this one...Beware tho, speaker bustin basslines! This mix is their entire Drink the Sea album with lyrics/voice samples dubbed in.>Enjoy!...
