I just wanted to share my experience(s) with Discount Tire. More specifically, the one in St.Cloud. This week I purchased some lightly used Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires, and brought them to Discount Tire to have them mounted. They actually asked me if I wanted to put there "road hazard"/free replacement if the tire was beyond repair protection on the tires, even tho they weren't purchased there. Thought that was pretty nice of them. I added it on the tires, and the guy did the mount/balance for $10 a corner since I added the coverage. And said if it came to a situation where a tire would need to be replaced, they would pro rate the whole set, since it was on an AWD car. So I wouldn't have to pay full price for a new set.

And last summer, I picked up a new set of wheels and tires for my wife's 2008 Nissan Xterra. The person who quoted, somehow dropped the ball and quoted me a price to mount and balance 4 wheels and tires, the price of 4 tires, but only ONE WHEEL! They had to order the wheels and tires so it took a few days. When I went in and got everything installed, I went to pay, and the guy who rang it up, which was a different guy from the one who quoted me, realized what happened. (The guy who quoted me, still ordered 4 wheels and 4 tires) And told me that I was getting 3 wheels for FREE! He said they will always stand by what there customers are quoted, and wasn't gonna slap on an extra $375 when I came in.

I have dealt with them for years, even when I lived out in Oregon, and have always been treated well. I just wanted to share my recent experiences with the local shop.

Brandon the manager out at Maplewood Discount Tire was really good with me also. With the new law and stuff with 07+ TMPS, they couldn't mount my Volk's unless they put in TMPS sensors into my Volk's. They were able mount it 2 years prior to it because store policy didn't go into effect. It was a simple take off my winters and slap on my summers. I told him to just balance them and I would mount them myself. He didn't want me to go that route since it would void my tire warranty if something happened. So he sold me 4 TMPS for the price of 2. I save a little over $200.

On a side note, all the technitions own some sort of import so they took care of my wheels all the time.

I've been please with Discount as well. I had a set of snows dismounted/summers remounted last spring. I made an appointment so I wouldn't have to wait to get it in. Well, long story short, it took forever to get it on the lift because they were really busy. They apologized and ate 100% of the cost. I was pleasantly surprised because good service is such a rarity these days.

Honestly, it's good service that brings people back and that sort of thing earns my business.

*edit* This was the Stillwater location, BTW.

Glad to hear there good to deal with in more then one location. I would assume the upper management makes sure people are treated well every where.

Ditto. I've only been to the one in Apple Valley. I'm not loyal to many companies. That's one of them.

I forgot to add, last winter my sister needed new tires on her focus, so I went with her to make sure she got good ones. We found a good set in her price range, but turned out they didn't have them in stock, the guy then told us that some Pirelli's weren't much more, turned out they were over $100 out of her price range and she couldn't afford them, bein a college student and all. So the guy dropped the price of the Pirelli's almost $100 and I chipped in the rest so she could get the tires she desperately needed.

Blaine store has treated me well. I've had free tire rotations, free tire mounting and a free flat repair. Honestly I don't think I've ever purchased anything from them. lol
