So... I used to dj at "warehouse parties". I think I'm about done with that phase of my life and I'm considering selling off all of my gear. I'm just gauging interest for now because it's going to be a serious pain in the ass to go through everything and take pictures/document new/used prices etc. I'm thinking $2500 $1500 or so for the works. It's everything you need but speakers. I know I'll make more if I part it out but, meh: Turntable/Accessories: 2x Vestax PDX 2000 turntables (note they have broken tone arm locks, common issue with these, doesn't affect operation and pretty cheap to replace). 2x+ Slipmats. Honestly I don't remember how many I have left. I know I have some Vestax branded mats and some butter rugs running around somewhere. I want to say I have at least one more set hidden in a crate. 2x Flight cases with foam inserts cut to fit 2x Shure M44-7's. I'm guessing they'll need new stylus' by now. A mess of other cartridges. I believe I have a set of ortophone concords and a set of stanton something or other along with miscellaneous head shells. Hard shell Shure carry case that securely holds two sets of carts. Mixers: Behringer DDM4000 (32bit Digital DJM 600 clone) - has maybe 20 hours on it. Solid main board. Vestax PMC 06a Pro "battle" mixer with upgraded digital xfader (I believe it's a CF-CC, have to take it apart to know for sure but it's BUTTER). This is a very basic, bulletproof board. What it does have is all sexy as hell. Numark DXM06 (xfader needs cleaning) Numark DM1050 (junk, I kept it around for the preamps) Wax/Accessories: 1 hard shell record flight case 1 ecko soft record bag - This was my preferred gig bag at the end, holds about an hour long set with some options. Lots of pockets, very comfortable even when fully loaded. 2x Vinyl cleaning brushes Metric ass ton of records - 6-7 crates? I don't know, I lost track a long time ago. I doubt there's a style pre early 2000's that I don't have in there somewhere. You're on your own if you're looking for dubstep or some other modern abortion of a sub-genre. Condition is going to be varied, a lot of them have been out of the sleeves for a while. They have been stored in a dark, temperature controlled room. There are some nice, rare jems in there including some limited run stuff from local folks (Dr Evil, Paul Birken, Eyedea & Abilities signed by Eyedea etc). Misc: Serato Scratch Live (SL1) - This is what lets you manipulate digital media with timecode vinyl. Play entire sets off your laptop as if they were on wax. 2x Timecode records for the SL1 setup Pioneer HDJ-1000 Headphones w/original carry bag Roland TR-505 (oldie but goodie ) All cables/random crap required to make everything run. Gemini two deck+mixer flight case that the PDX's don't fit in without some modification. I practically stole it and haven't gotten around to reselling yet. I also have a legit copy of Reason 3.0 + some refills.
Oh, and if someone from here buys them, I reserve the right to show up with a case of beer and throw down a session.
heh... it's been a long time. I was considering bringing them out to our last lift day but decided against it due to hassle. I'm down to rape the decks one more time if someone buys them though. Suppose that would make an effective "does this stuff actually work" demo...
Here's a pic of most of it when I still had it setup: I will dearly miss some of the memories... This is how I learned my kid was a basshead at the ripe old age of two:
If you part out, I'm interested in the vestax mixer, possibly some of your cartridges, and probably some wax.
I could offer you a steep discount on the whole shebang for a detail... Anyway, I'll keep that in mind. The DDM4000 and Vestax boards target very different styles, not many dabble in that much variety. It wouldn't surprise me if someone who is interested in the package with one board wouldn't necessarily be interested in the other. I like them both.
Interested in Serato SL1 if you part out. Any thoughts on how this compares to the newer versions? Will have to do a little research... Makes me sick to think how much I spent on vinyl over the years... now anyone with an internet connection can be a DJ. ;P
I haven't had a go at an SL2/3 yet. From what I gather they have better audio quality. SL3 gives you another deck if you want it and some nice setup options so you don't need to have as many cables running around. Now days it's expected that there will be some kind of digital box ready for you when playing out so ease of setup/teardown isn't much of a factor IMO. I'll say that it doesn't feel any different to me than Tractor Scratch. It's pretty solid, I haven't been able to make it screw up with a decently spec'd laptop.
bumpenhoffen. If someone is interested in everything sans the SL1 and the vestax board, let me know and I'll start pricing stuff out/taking pics. Also, Idget, I had that listed as an 05 pro, it's the 06 pro, the skinny one. Just making sure you knew what you were looking at. Frankly it's my favorite board ever for straight up turntablism. The component quality and sheer speed it affords is ridiculous.
Heh, perfect, I have an 05pro already and wanted this for backup/parts. It's been at least 9 years since I've used an 06, so I can't remember the feel, but I have a good idea. The slim design will be wasted in my coffin, but my skills are no where near where they used to be anyway.
Well damn. The cross and line faders would be pretty nice for "spare" parts, but I just don't think I could bare knowing an 06a got broken down... ( OTOH, if you can tolerate some house hijinks, I'm going to need to have to show up with a 6'er of something or other one of these days and session for the hell of it.
reluctant bump. The more I think about selling off a whole chunk of my life, the more sad panda I become.
Clutch/slave cylinder/fork just took a **** and I need cash to drop the trans-bump. Make me an offer.
Bump. I'm getting serious about selling this now. Here's a live mix representative of some of the house styles you'll find in the collection. Someone reminded me of this just now while pleading with me to not to sell. http://soundcloud.com/dj-able-1/demo-cd-mixed-by-dj-teddy **Don't mind the poor beat matching and ridiculous FX riding. It was live and I was pretty far from sober IIRC.
Love the tracks/mix, unfortunately the last thing I need is more records... But let me know if you part out.
I'm going to start parting out. I'll let the Serato SL1 box go for $200 cash. austinpike has first dibs because he sent me a pm about it a while ago.
how much you looking to get for the vestax and the wax stacks? Willing to let me pick through them? As much as I'd love to grab them all, I'm kinda short on space at the moment...
Waaah? We just built you an addition on your house...you have more room than ever! Janet won't mind it becoming your dj booth/record storage facility.
Not sure yet. I'll get some prices up in the next couple days. Off the cuff I'm thinking $500-600 for the decks including flight cases. The vinyl will take a little while to price if I have to sell them individually. There's quite a range as I mentioned. As far as storage... I fit almost all of it under a standard card table as you can see in the included picture. It's not as space-consuming as you might think since the crates are stackable.
I'll do $500 for both decks + flight cases + a set of headshells and shure cartridges (will need two new stylus). Otherwise $300 each.
Nope, SL1 and Behringer are gone. SL1 can be had for $200-$250'ish new if you're looking at the whole package.
$1500 for everything remaining, including Reason with a few refill packs? Help me buy this! http://mnsubaru.com/threads/gi-fs-92-legacy-ss-1500-00-obo.34790/
Nobody wants teh untz untz? Plus side: My car is back together with a new surprise-upgrade engine and surprise-rebuild transmission. Minus side: My TOB is taking a **** less than two weeks later.
Excellent question. Not sure on Paul Johnson, I want to say yes but I'm thinking I have one of his cd's as opposed to wax. I know I have some remixes of "Answering Machine". Style-wise you're on the right track. Lots of good old fashioned bangin' chicago house and "tech house" flavored stuff ala Green Velvet.
Nice, besides DrumNBass, tech house was always my favorite. I want this whole thing so bad...... INSANE deal. Who ever picks it up is a lucky mofo. I think all I could afford though is some vinyl. Is it still set up? Maybe I can bring a crate over and spin some night?
bump for "warehouse parties" and teh untz. glws if this is trying to happen. wish i had more room/time/money
Probably setting these up again in the next couple weeks, assuming they're still around when I swap around our bedroom and office....
I'm leaning on just keeping it all and setting it up at this point. I'd still entertain that $500-$600 range for the decks.
Hmmm, I have everything else. Really just need a decent set of decks. I have a few people looking at my wheels and some other car bits I'm selling. I might want to offer you $500-$600 for those if everything goes smooth. I went through all of my stuff this past weekend. All my records, equipment etc. I miss spinning so much. Just sick of my garbage decks.
