Hey MnSubaru Brothers and sisters. Do you like beer? Do you like helping out a fellow MnSubaru member? If you answered yes to either of those, I'm going to need you to mark your calendars for the final round of Top Brewer Minnesota on February 2nd from 12-4pm at Lucid Brewing Co. in Minnetonka. Tickets to the Finals go on sale December 2nd at noon at www.topbrewer.org What's this all about? I registered for a brewing competition that put home brewers up against each other and somehow I ended up winning my qualifying round and advanced to the finals. I went into the qualifier as the dark horse with the least amount of experience and had never entered any kind of beer-competition before. My opponents were multi-award winning brewers and had been brewing for 10-17 years. For this final round, there are four brewers who are all brewing an Irish red. The winner (the brewer that gets the most votes) will get to brew the recipe that they designed with Lucid on their commercial system and this beer will be distributed to the public in the spring. The ticket will get you into the door, a pint of Lucid, live music, and the chance to sample and judge and vote for which beer you believe to be the best.
