I have been away from Subaru for some time. People might remember I was one of I think 3 people that bought a new Type RA in MN. I bought the Black one #396/500 at Minnetonka. Since my Type RA I have had some interesting vehicles. This goes from 2020 until right now. I traded my Type RA in for my 2nd RS3. It was Mythos Black and really should never have sold that car, but I tend to say that a lot these days. I drove the 2019 RS3 for just over a year and then thought to myself after driving a 2020 BMW X3M Competition that I needed an SUV. After all the G80 M3 had not come out yet and the engine in that was already in the X3M. So I went to Motorwerks, traded in my RS3 for a 2020 X3M Comp. I really tried to like that car. I bought it during a snow storm. It dumped 6" of snow on us. Imagine trying to drive from Champlin to Bloomington on Summer performance tires both ways as I had to get my summers back on the RS3 for trade-in and the X3M also had summers on it. Went to Discount Tire in Brooklyn Park that day and got a proper setup. I had the X3M for only about 4 months. I traded it in for a 2019 Audi RS5 in Black. I also had a snowstorm trading the X3M in for about half of the trip to Chicago where I got it. I am convinced that car was cursed. I got an absolutely astonishing deal on the RS5 at a Porsche dealership nonetheless. This is where I should have stopped... But I didn't.
I created a YouTube channel to go through my cars the way I wanted to. All of these cars after the Type RA have been on my channel. If anyone is curious go watch any of the videos on there and you will see me. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoOnEcPxF0goqWy-kPK9zcA

I loved the RS5, it was fast, plenty of luxury, great on space, was fairly economical to drive, looked awesome. I only had it a few short months (Under 5 months I believe) I was hungry for content on my channel and reached out to Motorwerks to do a review on a 2018 M5 they had on the lot. My guy I bought the X3M from told me to stop by and we could go for a ride. Since I am me I brought my title with just in case it was something I could make work. After all I had always wanted a "REAL" M car. (I didn't count the X3M as it was an SUV) So I end up buying the M5. It was great, the F90 is an awesome platform, it sounded great, had massing seats that actually did a good job (Unlike the RS5) and oddly enough was actually pretty economical even though it had 600 hp. I bought it at the end of September knowing I better move fast as Winter would be approaching soon and I would need a set of Winter wheels. So I did what any responsible person would do... I bought an AWE Track Exhaust and straight piped that Biotch! It sounded GLORIOUS and was so loud I had to start my car with the garage door closed. I loved every bit of it. I got 706M Wheels in gloss black the next week in Chicago and then got my winter setup on the car. This is where things went south. In the winter the car never ran correctly. I had lots of weird issues in the extreme cold, buttons sticking or just not working, and I had oddities with the engine surging when I would start it. I didn't want to be on the hook for an engine replacement that would cost about $40k so I ended up looking for a new replacement. The car lasted all the way through the winter and I traded it in mid April. I was looking at 2020-2021 STi's at this point, but got caught up with S4's and ended up buying one at the Toyota dealership in Golden Valley. I took a huge loss on the M5. One that I am still paying off now. I had the S4 for a few months, but in January the bug had bit me again and I really wanted back in an RS5 again. I found a dealership in Iowa we worked out a deal and I came back with another RS5 Sportback. I had the RS5 through the next winter and when October hit I was randomly searching for my next YouTube car I wanted to feature on my channel. That is when I saw it... Love at first sight... By mistake I had hit M850i instead of M8 for BMW and I saw my current ride. A 2022 BMW M850i X drive Gran Coupe in Twilight Purple. 523 HP, an awesome throaty sounding V-8 its Purple, so that is rare for me, its an Individual paint color from BMW so it is rare, and the owner before me has painted the calipers Acid Green. It truly is a 1 of 1 vehicle. I have had the car 6 months and I do love it but the bug has bitten me again. I have looked at Civic Type R's in the past, that was on my list for a bit but not really into that anymore. I have looked at Integra Type S and still on my short list. I REALLY looked at 2020 - 2021 STi Limiteds as I have never had an STi with a sunroof and good speakers. Limiteds come with the HK sound.
This brings me to my next juncture in car history. The new tS WRX has just come out. By itself with nothing done to it I am not a huge fan, but with a few cosmetics like bumper covers to hide the disgusting rear bumper, and paint matched fender flares, along with an STi wing, and some axel back exhaust I have recently rethought where I want to go next. I want to have something fun and engaging to drive. My car now is one of a kind and super fast but it really doesn't have the heart that my STi's or my 1 WRX did. So 7 cars in 5 years later I might be ready to pull the trigger on a Subie again some time in the next year or so. The negative reminder of the M5 will be paid off and I think I will be in something that I truly enjoy and enjoy driving. Sorry for the novel, but I used to be a regular here and have been AFK since 2020. I hope to change that. Look for me in the welcome mat in the next coming months!
