Ok, so here's the deal. You need to list 5 cars under $50,000 US cash money that you would purchase if a million extra bucks dropped into your lap.

Since we all have very nice subarus none of them can be a USDM subaru. They can be subaru derived swap cars, non US spec subarus but no imprezas or legacies please.

You need to post a nice picture of each one and a description as to why you chose it. As a bonus if you're a motorcycle person you can throw 2 bikes in there in addition.

    I'll start.

    Alfa Romeo 147 GTA
    [IMG]
Absolutely gorgeous car. Ridiculously, pointlessly, tire smoking fast. Barely steerable, incredibly loud and sounds almost as good as a ferrari. Lots of style points

    Fiat 500 Abarth
    [IMG]
very well designed, best example of a modern day update of a classic car yet.

    Renault Clio V6
    [IMG]
take one of the biggest engines you make and put it in the smallest car you make. Oh wait, there's no room under the hood? lets just put it in the back seat and make it rear wheel drive.

Honda Type R VTEC Classic Mini cooper
    [IMG]
A super light chassis with direct steering and an engine that can smoke the tires all the way through the first three gears on the way to a 12 second 1/4 mile.

    Toyota FJ Cruiser
    [IMG]
Assuming I have money i'd put some aside for gas for it. I have always been a land cruiser fan even before subarus and I love the FJ. With the full diff package its also just about the most capable off road vehicle ever sold in the us directly from the factory.

    some bikes

    aprilia RSV mille
    [IMG]
    best... bike... ever...

    supercharged yamaha TMAX 500
    [IMG]
Take a 500cc super sports scooter with the engine forward, put a sueprcharger on it and basically you have something almost as cool as Kaneda's akira bike. Rotrex supercharger, Yamaha r1 front fork, intercooler, 4 pot brakes on both sides.

Why would I buy cars that cost less than $50k if I had a million dollars to waste?

If I had to follow your contrived rules, however:
    1. Elise
    2. Atom
    3. Corvette
    4. Suburban
    5. STizzle?

    1. Ducati 1098

surely you'd want to buy a house and junk...

nah its just more interesting to see stuff that isnt so exotic rather than just a list of ferarris and stuff.

toyota hilux (ok, maybe not this specific one..)

It's true. Toyota sent a pair of them to last years Crawl 4 the Cure. bone stock with the addition of an ARB steel front bumper. and they did extremely well!!!

    1. My Loyale. supercharged 22t, Dual range EJ 5-speed (non-USDM) with cryo'ed internals, locking LSD center, helical LSD front and rear, uber chassis braces, etc.

    2. My 4Runner. SAS'd (Solid [front] Axle Swapped), rebuilt/built turbo motor, 5.71 axle gears, 4.7:1 low range, detroit rear locker, ARB front, 38" Super Swampers. sort of like this one:

    3. Early '90s Toyota FJ-80 Land Cruiser tow rig:
to bring the above vehicles to their destinations.

    4. Black 1989 Subaru RX, daily driver (I know, it's USDM....but they're insanely rare, only available in 1989, so rare that the only pic I could find tonight was in a junkyard):

    5. Z31 N/A Nissan 300ZX, weekend toy. My dad has one, and it's extremely fun to drive, especially with the T-tops out!

I used to have an FJ80. It was awesome beyond words, took a beating like nobody's business. I sold it to buy my first subaru, I still have the front grille from it with about a zillion rock chips hanging in my living room.

How many of these have you seen in person? I've seen 1. :)

    2. My old Jeep
    http://www.technocrew.net/forum/CIMG0371.JPG (Large pic)
Sold it when I moved away from the mountains, one of the saddest days. When I sold it, here was the setup: 4 inch lift. 4.88 gears, 33 inch tires, lots of rock protection. On those nice summer days I just hurt inside. I know the person who bought it and I've already told them that if they think about selling it to tell me. I will own another jeep again.

If *ANYONE* knows one that is for sale that somewhat runs, please IM me. As odd as it sounds, this is one of my dreams is to have one as a sunday driver only.

I had this and a WRX wagon at the same time...that was kind of dreamy.

In my garage would also be the new Triumph Speed Triple...mmmm!

    Now, on to the cars!

2005 alpine white STI. Gotta have a sooby for winter months. I also like the old front end. Not MUCH more, but enough. Would also leave about 10-15k to play with. Oh, and I know its usdm.
2006 Toyota Tacoma. My work truck. 19-22 MPG (not bad for being able to tow 6500lbs. Can carry five passengers comfortably, and can hold 1450 lbs in the bed. Also, one of the most important parts of my car purchase rules. It was a HUGE hit with car and driver guys, who claim the build quality was phenomenal. They hit potholes and drove gravel roads all day and couldnt get anything on the inside to creak or rattle. (Quiet and comfortable)

I'm fudging the rules a little on this one too. And the 50K limit is stretched a bit unless I go used on this baby. Okay fine, a LOT. Get over it. ;)

2007 Pro Line 24ft Walk. Great all around boat for Minnesota lakes. Deep V hull and center steer so that this thing can handle everything from Lake superior to some of the shallower local stuff. Plenty of power can be stuffed on the back of this thing (handles up to twin 250 outboards) It can be wakeboarded behind with the big wake it throws, and it can be a great touring around boat. There is plenty of seating for friends to join too.
If this boat looks familiar to you, its because the Sheriffs use them on Lake Minnetonka.

They have a crazy stretched ZX-10 down at that Kawi/Suzuki/BMW dealership by Lakeville Motoprimo.

It was built by a custom shop somewhere local. The thing is ridiculous looking (in a good way), and being so, is probably impossible to ride.

I should also add that Grand Nationals are Teh Sex.

This of course is listed on ebay for $49,500.

If we’re talking about stock cars:
1)C6 z51 for track days and weekend cruising
    [IMG]

2)2010 Camaro SS. Almost bought a 98 ss back in 2000… the 2010 is looking nice tho… 422hp/400tq for 30k? I’ll start growing my mullet now…
    [IMG]

3)Lotus exige s. The GF wants one… I wouldn’t mind driving it from time to time either ;)

4)MKIV Supra. I’ve wanted one since they came out … my 87 was nice, but needed a:

5)Obligatory Subaru… based on the criteria in the OP and the need for a utility vehicle, even though it’s technically an impreza, I’d go with a Forester STI.

    Bikes:

    or
    [IMG]

Nothing too over the top for me… wouldn’t want to wait 6 months for parts or have to ask Harry to overnight them from Japan.
If we’re talking about modified cars, the list really changes.

    I'll play.

First off 1979 Monte Carlo I love the lines of this car. Soooo sexy. I've been drooling over these things for some time now. I'd probably move more towards a low-rider set up if I ever got one of these.

Next up would be a 1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo another ride that I've been obsessed with for some time now. I've driven a few and the ones that I've driven were pretty sluggish, but I'm sure some upgrades would fix that.

Oh boy this is fun, Silvia S15 bottom line this is a hot car... Wish I could get my mitts on one.

2007 Chevy Avalanche Super sexy truck, not much performance value but it'd be nice for towing a ride to the track.

Lastly it'd have to be an EVO IX if I had the funds I'd already be in one, but with insurance and my crappy job this car is still just a dream car. Maybe in a few years it'd be a possbility.

I'm gonna go ahead and change my choices to cars. (I already own one of my dream motorcycles)

First would be the hurst olds, with the sweet lighting rod shifters
    the 25th anniversary camaro SS
    Of course, the GNX
and for daily duty would be a REAL legacy GT, (i would have to make it, but oh well)

Supra TT would be nice. 97 or 98 in that area
My car (07 wrx) extremely modified with the other 30k that I have to play with it.
    22b clone
Solstice GXP again heavily modified to be much much fun
And I suppose I'd need a truck to haul this stuff around. Chevy diesel chipped.
