We are thinking about taking a trip down to the cities for some good eats. Anyone interested in either meeting up/driving down for the day? A couple of us that are going are wanting to stop by Ikea since we are in the area. So, you could join us there or go do your own thing for a while. Basically, just looking for some hands as to who would be interested from up north going to the cities for some Chipotle and anyone from the area want to meet us for some burritos? One thing I will ask, anyone have a suggestion to a good location that has room to accommodate? Ill update this as I get a list of people interested. Driving to the cities to go to Chipotle? When we have the Burrito Union right here in town? not to mention it's the same weekend as Sno*Drift.
chipotle is far superior to burrito union when I lived in duluth last year my buddies and I made a few trips down just for chipotle
I am all for BU, but I find the burritos to be better at Chipotle. Plus, I needed an excuse to go to Ikea, so, its a win win in my book :biggrin:
I love ikea!! I acutally need to go there too..but I work till 4pm sats..I have sundays off..lmk what becomes of this.
WHich Chipotle are you hitting up? I'm sure there is one closer to Ikea if people are meeting there. I like this idea. I need to go to Ikea too. (I hear they have giant penguin stuffies .. what .. I like hugging huge penguins) And what time were you thinking of heading down here? If it's not too much trouble, there is a Chipotle in woodbury, about 15 minutes east of Ikea - they have a HUGE parking lot - they share a lot with a big sporting goods store that isn't open anymore.
^THIS I like whats going on here. We havent decided on a specific chip yet. But close to Ikea is IDEAL! I am all for Woodburry Chipotle.
Theres a chipotle in bloomington probably 10 minutes away from ikea or one in edina or richfield that would both be closer than the woodbury one if your looking for one by ikea
woodbury is kind of far for most.....oh and there is one at moa ...3rd floor next to movie theater..lots of parking..and one in bloomington very close with good parking also..
It is if you don't drive like a pansy But yes, about 15-20 minutes away, the issue is the parking lot. Ikea has a huge lot, yes, but it's a bitch to get a bunch of cars into at once (and out of) Woodbury would provide a nice little cruise and then there's a huge lot. I think there are ones in Bloomington but again - the lots. I mean, you could do the closer ones if you guys just wanna come here, go to ikea, get food and gtfo. Just lmk if you need any editing done to this thread (the title) or the posts when you get the details all figured out
I suppose i could make it to woodburry again...(was there this weekend took me only 40 mins to get there)..but well let the duluth people decide.
ah i wanna do this, but i dont know if i can go down that weekend, back up, then back again the next weekend for the superbowl. ill figure it out in the next week and let you guys know. but if i were to go, me and my fiancee would go down on friday night and spend friday night through sunday there, then meet up with you guys on sunday for ikea and chipotle. so put me down for a maybe.
ill meet up with you guys if its not to far of a drive for me.....i second the bloomington location the bloomington one is 5 minutes away from 35w if you wanted it to be somewhat on the way home
I think the plan is to make it down by noon or one and then spend some time shopping. So, I'd say lunch/meeting up would happne in the 3-3:30 area? Late lunch/early dinner... That seems to work good with most people, no?

I wont be meeting up with you guys. That's the day I'll be coming home from Lutsen. Think of the chaos of the ice races, but replace cars with snowboards... So I wont be in ANY condition to hang out. If things change I'll hit you guys up. have fun!

oh and just an fyi there is a potbelly snadwhich place and a noddels and company right next door so if people dont like chipotle they have options..this in reference to the place in the lead.
Time? Good call... How would 3:30 or 4 work? I know that some people are comming after work and such, so, does that seem like an acceptable time?
