ok, as many of you know i put down 113whp and 143ft/lbs. with virtually no tuning. what do you think i will be at once i dail this thing in?

    heres what i got
    2.2l NA engine 9:1 compression
    td04 P&P 5 PSI max
    380 cc injectors
    TBE.

my AFRs were in the low 9s when i dynoed. so lets see some predictions.

what is your EM, how are you running 5psi when the internal wastegate spring is 7psi?

I'd say you can run 8psi no problem with correct tuning, are you sure your engine is 9:1?

hehe although eleventybillion whp sounds very nice, i think i would trade it or some more torque.

EM = Perfect Power SMT6. i changed the wastegate actuator from the stock wrx one (10psi) to the EA82 Turbo one (5 psi). for safety reason. since i have very little control over timing i didnt want to through too much boost at it right away.

alright, well pretty much if you have no control over timing your EM is useless, but I could have told you the PP6 was useless from the start, actually i think you did ask my opinion on it, lol. Jk, maybe it isnt that bad but anything rallitek sells and makes claims on, I would not buy.

anyways, you need to have proper (consistent and correct) timing control or you will never really get to full potential or be totally safe. Right now your compression ratio is likely what is keeping detonation away(in addition to your very rich mixes) if you must stay with an offset device look into something else that will control timing and fuel, like an emanage or go to a stand alone. Timing is critical and if you don't really have control over it, that makes me nervous.

i completely agree. i got eh pp6 because it can control timing and fuel. since it doesnt seem to be working well with my car i have glanced into other options. i am not sure if the greddy emange i will encounter he same problems or not. but standalone cost a pretty penny, where i could jus spend tht money and be half way to a wrx swap.

i agree that the lower compression, rich mixs and the colder plugs are keeping me from detnating. thats why i am very hesitant to lean it out. i do still have the stock knock sensor which will help a bit in retarding timing but that kind of a last step in preventing det.

yah the ej22s have 9:1 or 9.5:1 but i am pretty sure its 9:1. the ej22ts have 8:1, making them even more invisible.

ej22t's are 7.8:1, there are SOME ej22's i believe that are 9:1 but it may actually just be a bit higher, from what i was reading i think they switched to higher compression after a certain model year, so you may want to check that, you really should know what that is anyways.

yea swaps are an option I have a wrx drivetrain 04;) in this day and age it makes more sense to swap with all the drivetrains available and your car will be factory reliable unless you like to spend lots of time tuning and have closed loop ability. Problem is people try to cheap out on turboing their cars, and as you have found out, it doesnt work. I tell everyone this ahead of time, but it doesnt seem to stick:)

hehe.. i have heard two numbers for the ej22s. 9:1 and 9.5:1. i am not exactly sure in which year they switch butmy guess its when they switched from phase to phase 2.

anyway that stock reliabilithy thing is very appealing. my car isnt that bad right now it just needs alittl helpstarting and you gotta keep an eye on it at idle. but with a USDM swap it opens you up to the cobb AP which seems to be the way to go.

i dont know i might start pricing out front clips and swaps. reliability = nice.
