Ok, its that time again people! 2006 dyno/tune day, tuning done by Jorge (RiftsWRX). Im looking at the last weekend in April 28-30. This year is going to work alittle different. Were going to try to have a 2 day event but only tuning 3 cars on the second day so Jorge can still catch a flight at a decent hour. As of right now, the first day is all full. Here is the list of people I have, if you decide you cant make it please let me know ASAP! Day One 1. Me- STi - 8:00am - 10:00am 2. Pete- STi- 10:00am - 12:00pm 3. Josh -STi - 12:00pm - 2:00pm 4. Aaron- STi - 2:00pm - 4:00pm 5. MNAutomatic - 4:00pm - 6:00pm Day Two 1. Leibosti - 8:00am - 10:00am 2. Hawke - 10:00am - 12:00pm 3. WRXEcho - 12:00pm - 2:00pm Back Up 1. 2. If you want to be added to this list please post up or send me a pm. Ide also like to get 2-3 people for a back up because we all know there will be atleast one person who will back out last minute. As it stands right now the prices will be the same as last year, $450.00 for two hours on the dyno and tune. All of this will take place at Rons place, http://www.rs-motors.net/ Any questions please dont hesitate to post up or send me a pm. Also, if this date doesnt work for most people we can always try a different date. 8) 2/20/06 The days have been changed to May 6th and 7th, hope that works for everybody.
You should also mention that Jorge will only be able to tune certain setups. He does accessport and utec if i'm not mistaken? I know he wont do my car, and a few others I have talked to have said the same.
How can i get more information? like what should be done to the car before hand and what are the typical results...I have stg2 AP
so, since he's a certified cobb tuner, if you have a standard AP, will he be able to make you a more aggressive map for your setup. Then all you have to do is upload it to the AP. Do you need a street tuner AP or anything other than a standard AP? If he can tune my 4eat 02 and i can use the map/maps without having to upgrade or trade in my accessport. I will most likely be down! I kinda need to know that though. My upgrades will depend on that as well.
Jorge has a list of things that should be done before a tune on his website. http://www.projectwrx.com/
Put me down for day 2 - STi - If I have to pay the tax man I may have to bail. But I'll let you know at least a couple weeks in advance.
I'm in for day 2 totally. I'll have a whole new slew of goodies that need to be tuned up! Thanks! -02 wrx wagon-
Well all the spots are taken now. I'de still like to get a few people atleast for a back up. So if you still want in let me know and ill put you on the back up list.
Put me as a back up!! I will have my whole set up in by then. What would happen if I dont get my turbo broken in by then? Would a tune with max boost cause me some problems you think? Well anyways, put me as a back up and I should be down.
I put my turbo on the day before the tune last year and everything was fine, I dont think you really have to worry about a long breakin on the turbo
Were looking at changing the date to April 22nd. It''s Ron's wifes b-day on the 28th so all I need to do is give Jorge a call and confirm that its ok to change the date.
I will have to push the guy to finish my car by then, but it should be no problem. The 22nd actually works alot better for me.
Well thats good to hear then cause I hope to have everything installed over spring break, cept my valvebody, and it will sit in my garage till I came back for the dyno day...well thats if I get in and one of you drop out.
Erik, check your voice mail when you get a chance. Unfortunately, that weekend won't work for me (wife's at a trade show, and I'm on baby duty).
Oh...that is even better for me. I was gonna have to cancel both of those april weekends cause of lacrosse but we are done by may. If someone needs to drop out I would be more than willing to step in
I think I will have to cancel my spot, talked to Jorge and he wants me to drive the car to Chicago so he can spend a day tuneing it, since im switching to the hydra. I will let you know forsure after I talk to Phil at element tuning before I cancel my spot. Rich
ok, as soon as I get things figured out I will let you guys know for sure that im canceling. I should know tomorrow or Monday at the latest
Sorry to hear that rich but Yippee...I dunno what I was gonna do if I missed this dyno day. I guess I would of had to drive my car down to chicago and gotten it tuned cause I couldn't of driven it for that long with all these new bits and pieces that are gonna make it faster. Very excited now and I hope ya can find someone who tunes your Hydra well Rich
The May 7 date should work well for me, looking forward to this. Does Jorge mind answering a few questions for us prior to the dyno day? I have read his general suggestions, but had a few specific questions about my setup. Thanks for organizing this.
Yep, Jorge is very easy to talk to, although sometimes he can be very busy. But he usually gets back to you.
