My e-brake is no longer clicking when I pull it up. There is also no resistance when I pull the e-brake up, and so just a little touch of the e-brake turns on the dash light. I also noticed that there seems to be more resistance when I let go of the gas while driving. When I let go of the gas and let the car roll, it is coming to a stop faster than in the past. From a stop or parking position, it is also harder to get the car moving in first gear than before.

Car is a 2013 WRX Base Sedan. Any suggestion is appreciated, Thanks!

Sounds like the cable is stretched and/or out of alignment and the brake shoes are stuck engaged.

The light is on a switch and triggers in relation to the handle position and is just an indicator of the handle position (has nothing to do with the cable that engages the brake shoes). Sounds like the light is functioning fine.

Do you usually yank the ebrake up rather than slowly pulling on it... Giggity.

I was told the cable was corroded, and had it replaced. Thanks for the reply!
