Question for those on E85 year round. Can you run full boost on the winter blend? Do you have different maps for summer and winter? Getting ready for the season and need help deciding how much tuning i want to do (93 & e85; e85 summer and winter blends; or 1 e85 map year round)
They make an E85 octane gauge if you want to get really technical. With that being said I agree with Tash.
We sell these at the shop. For $12 it's a good, inexpensive way to check what you're getting at the pump. They're especially nice if you run it year-round.
Year round, just leave it a bit rich for winter or you could get 2 maps, 1 for an e70 and 1 for e85 if you don't want to run rich. I'm running e70 and e85
E85 can have some start up hesitation in cold temps. I had Nuke tweak mine a couple time and never had an issue after that even in negatives temps.
Well the tune is always turned up... Lol. But I do probably rip through the gears close to daily. It may be too often... Oh well. No point in having a fast car unless you enjoy it.
This is one of those things I feel like I should do. As long as one tune works, I'm happy. For the shear difference in price between premium and E85, E85 can get pretty terrible mileage before it actually gets more expensive. I can get 20mpg on premium and as long as I'm 15mpg or over on E85, I'm saving money...and making power.
Got 16mpg today, all city, as I went out for 40 miles for a cruise and wasted 2.47 gallons, 22+ all freeway plus cruise control Depends on how you drive it, I shift early, 2000-2500rpm and hardly ever get on it, why I bought a turbo? $1+ difference now
Thanks, but yes, your mpg is really up to your right foot, fuel economy in mind or not I converted more for reliability than power, power was just a bonus and now I'm saving a few dollars to with the $1+ difference in price
