well i got a letter today saying that im $29.93 past due on my account, but have not spent anywhere near that amount. It says: Dear Ge Khang, Your account with ebay, inc. is past due. we have been asked by ebay,inc. to begin debt collection activity. the balance shown above is the amount due as of the date of this letter. this amount may change due to interest or other charges that may be added to the account after the date of this letter. If you would like to make a payment arrangements please call 1-888-472-8332. We would like to give you the opportunity to resolve this debt. please make your check or money ordder payable to ebay, inc. and sent it to: Ebay, inc. P.O. BOX 2179 Carol Stream, IL 60132-2179 we are a debt collector attempting to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose. i have searched around quite abit and have seen a few websites claiming this is a scam. And when i logged onto my ebay, there was no message or invoice of such "debts" which probably would of been the way they do it. What do you guys think?

Well I Googled the address and the first thing to pop up was a rip off report so I am guessing its a scam. Google it and see what you think.
yeah those were the ones i saw...should i just ignore it? and hope for the best? it'll make a ton better sense if ebay sent me like an invoice that they normally do when i sell items, but ive just checked and havent gotten anything of anysort, not even a online message.
yeah after looking up more info, this thing apprently first came out 2005..-___- freaking old crap! ima call up ebay tmrw and ask for up to date statement and stuff and should they send me more crap, ill simply send them the statement.... oh and the debt collectors are in st. pual mn!!!....its called i.c. systems, its a legit collecting company but the zipcode that was on the letter is 55164 and the one on their website is 55127 and the number provided to me doesnt match the number on the letter....but when i looked up the reference number, the amount i owed came up too! should i get a statement and go straight to their offices? or?
ebay would NEVER send you an email asking for you to send them money. but by chance did you buy something that your credit card or check bounced on? since reading your last post that may be a possibility, but if everything is on the up and up i would call that company and ask if they know whats going on. Since they may be a victim too, someone may have hacked the system and its an easy way to get money if someone knows they do in fact owe money.
^^ Agreed. Do not send them money. Check your account online. You will have received notices in messages well before ever going to collection.
they didnt send an email, it was through postal mail. and i talked to ebay customer service and she said that my current balance is 0 and i owe nothing, so i should be good.
