Yup, guys. I gave in. I have always said that Ebay sucks (still does; people still wait to bid over you on the last 10 seconds), but I went ahead and purchased a ...*drumroll* MUGEN-POWER INTAKE!!! 15 HP increase! I really havn't had time to install it, here's what I visually thought about it: the intake is polished black (scratches easily), the Mugen-Power stickers were peeled off the first 5 minutes I got a hold of it, the tube is about 2.5" in diameter (my old Ganzflow is 3"), this d*mn thing actually fits well, this is an Injen CAI replica, and the price was less than $50 shipped. Not bad for a replica. I wanna find out how much better it will perform over my Ganzflow stage 2 CAI. I also purchased (besides the CH belt-driven air compressor I talked about in my other thread) an AirCat Impact Wrench for $99.95 shipped. 1/2" Twin-Hammer Impact Wrench Model# 931G2 Sound Level........84 DBA Square Drive ......1/2" Free Speed.........7000 rpm Max.Torque.........640 ft/lbs Air Pressure.......90 psi Working Torque.....50-500 ft/lbs Air Consump........4 cfm _____________________________________________________________ So, who here has got something from Ebay and lived to tell about it. I wanna hear, too.
Items purchased from eBay... Tein FLEX coilovers Tein EDFC STi replica front and rear strut tower bars (40 bucks ) Sparco Torino2 seats (from a pretentious Ferrari owner that wanted stock seats) HKS HiPower Catback Front Lip from Garage-J (broken, negotiating with KaliforniaKid about having it remade in CF) TurboXS FMIC (bought it from boostkits, a vendor on WRXF.com) AccessPORT X 2 (bought one, sold it, bought another...don't ask) I find that if you trust your instincts and read the seller's feedback, you probably wont get screwed. I wont buy from sellers with less than 25 feedback @ 100%. If they are less than 100% then I look at their history and give them a fair chance...some eBayers are picky and just plain jerks sometimes. Also, if it is from out of the USA, I wont buy it. I don't trust that either.
Yam don't knock selling stuff on e-bay. I have sold over 500 splitters on there. I have sold alot of stuff on there, it is alomost like having a 2nd job. Like readymix said, just look at their feedback, thats the best way of doing it. Also, shoot them a e-mail (even if it is a stupid question) just to see what kind of response you get. Russ
My favorite eBay item that I've ever won: Too bad it's not mine!} A friend that used to work for me started an internet business a few years ago (not porn) with her husband. Needless to say, they did well. I saw them about a year and a half ago and they were talking about buying some kind of sports car. I piped up and said that the GT was "it". Last June she called me and said that her hubby now talks about the car non stop and that she wanted me to help her buy one. It was actually nerve racking and it wasn't even my money. I put my bid in with 12 seconds left and ended up winning. Part of the deal was that I was supposed to go pick it up from the dealer in ND. It was scheduled for delivery in Sept. It ended up not getting done until Dec and I couldn't drive it back. She wanted him to be able to drive it when she gave it to him and asked me what I thought. I suggested she have it shipped to Monterey and drive it up the coast in CA. She did it. She woke him up at 5 AM on NYE and told him she was surprising him with a trip. They flew out and the car got stuck in an ice storm in ND. It ended up getting there at 2AM and she drug him down in his bath robe at the hotel were the valets pulled it up. The hotel arranged for a videographer. Extreme shock and cursing is what I'm told is on the tape. Hopefully I can talk him in to bringing it down to Univ Ave some night once it warms up. JT

Whoa! A Ford GT! What was the "ballpark" price that you purchased this car for? C'mon...
They were selling between $200K and $290K. I bid on the lower end and won. They had one on the floor at Stillwater Ford, it sold in one day for $290K. I actually called and offered the dealer in ND $20K more than I ended up winning it for if he would end the auction early and sell it to me out right. I think he saw what others at the time were fetching and thought he could get more . JT
