I will be doing a STI 2.5L longblock(heads and block) swap soon and need to know if I can run with my current tuned settings safely until i can get it retuned or will I need a retune to run it safely?

    My current performance mods:
    AEM CAI
    MRT TMIC
    V7 Sti Intake Manifold
    STI pinks
    MRT lightweight pulley(i think)
    HKS headers and uppipe
    VF34
    MRT turboback
    HKS circle grounding
    WRX ecu ECUTek tuned
TurboXS stage4 Unichip(old and outdated but it works)

I will not be running AVCS until later when i can figure out how to wire the AVCS harness to the WRX harness...

Any relating help will be appreciative...

Are you running the 2.0 engine now? If so, I would image you will need a new reflash once you move up to the 2.5 due to the increased airflow.

Well, you are definitly going to have to change up some of your parts. On a 2.5, the vf34 is going to be kinda on the small side. The biggest thing is the injectors. You will definitly need to get larger injectors. A good tune on a vf34 will max out pinks on a 2.0l. Once you increase the amount of airflow through the motor, you will also need to increase the amount of gas to keep your afr's in check. So that ultimatly mean that you will need a new tune. I guess I would ditvh the unichip (since txs doesn't work with them anymore), and source someone that will be able to tune the ecutek for ya. I think grd in chicago is the closest.

would it be better to just stick with the wrx heads till i can get bigger injectors, bigger turbo, and working avcs?

would the modded ~850cc wrx injectors be sufficient in this set up?

can I use the cam gears on the wrx heads on the sti heads?
