So I can read, and test write with no issues. When I try and flash my ecu, its comes up with an error saying

    eading ecu programming voltage
    programming voltage is 4.2 volts
    programming voltage is too low!

    in the logg.

Has anyone seen this error before? I've flashed my ecu at least 10 times with no issues at all. Then today, I tried it, and got this. I looked at the forums over on openecu.org but no one really has an answer. Does anyone know where the flashblock is getting its power source from (obviously the battery but exactly where it is routed through?)

I haven't looked at this in a long time, but the cable has to provide 5v on one of the pins to do the reflash, right? Did you switch cables, laptops or usb ports? I thought the earlier cables anyway got their power from the USB port...

did you try driving around for like 10 minutes and then try flashing?

Futz with your flash block more, that's what it says when the flash block's not plugged in. Maybe you broke a wire.

I can email you the wiring diagram if you want, but its probably a problem with the connector.

If you could email the wiring diag that would be tight. I through a volt meter on the connector block, one side is getting 4.1v which tells me, there is something that wire is connected to that is restricting the voltage coming through....thats the only thing I can think of.

I don't think its the alt or battery, I am going to get my battery tested today after work though.

If your battery was at 4.1v your whole car would be dead.

Exactly, so somewhere in that wire there HAS to be something holding the voltage back. If I ran a wire directly from my + terminal to the drain side of the block, I'm sure it would work.

Don't go hooking up 12v willy-nilly to pins on your ecu. What year is your car?

Lol I know, its an 02 I'm looking at that wiring diagram and it shows that the flash memory connector is getting its voltage from the OBDII port on pin 6.

Ok I'm not sure why this is only recieving 4.1v . I tried tracing the lines back with the diagram that w o t boy provided me, and found that indeed there should be 12v on that line going to the ECU (the Red/White wire). I ran a 12v (accessory) line to the blue line on the flash block. This way when I connect the flash block, and turn the ign on, its supplying 12v to the ecu. Funny thing I found as well, not sure if someone else would want to check, that on my OBDII port, I am also getting 4.1v on the 16th pin, which should be 12v I believe.
Eitherway, for now, its working again
