I am looking to sell my EG33 swapped Forester which is currently non-running. I bought it that way. The previous owner had been daily driving it, but stopped when there was a running issue. It was eventually traced to a bad coil, but not until he had fiddled with the wiring harness thinking that was the issue. I bought it and after trying to figure out his rats nest of wiring opted to have the harness redone properly. I had Chux go through and clean everything up and make me a proper, more professional harness. Unfortunately there is still something keeping the fuel pump from coming on, meaning the car is still not running. Everything else seems to be in good order. It's likely that there is some stupid wiring thing like an unhooked ground keeping it from running. Unfortunately this car has been sitting for way too long and I will not have the time or energy in the foreseeable future to dig deeper. I'm hoping to recover something close to what I put in to it if possible which at this point is ~$2,400.

    Other details:
Body is from Florida so it's pretty clean. A small patch of rust at a windshield corner and some paint blemishes, but it's much more solid than most Subarus of it's vintage from this area. Something over 200k miles on the body.
The engine has far less. I'll see if I can find the numbers, but it is probably half what the body has. It's from a 94 I believe.
WRX suspension, seats, and Momo steering wheel have all been swapped over to the car.
Interior is pretty clean, at least it will be once the interior bits are put back. I have several parts out to make wiring and diagnosis easier.

From what I've heard this car will make you insta-friends with Matt Farah so don't forget to factor that in to your buying decision.

Have you tried hard wiring the fuel pump just to test it?

Yes, I jumped it early on in my diagnosis to rule out a bad pump. The issue seems to be that the ecu is missing some signal for it to fire up properly.

And, yes, I did swap in a new ecu to test that component. :)

Can the fuel pump just be wired to run off a toggle switch that could be flipped on before starting? Because racecar?

It probably could, though I am not sure of there are other bits associated with that ecu initialization that are necessary to run. The way I remember Chux explaining it to me is that the fuel pump priming is a good indicator of the ecu getting proper power/signal to run the car.

I see you've got the EG accessories on the car. Is the power steering hooked up, it does not look like it in the images.

The power steering is not currently hooked up. It would need at least one new line, though the option is there at least for anyone who would want to.

I know, right? It's more to do about me getting frustrated and not having the desire to fiddle with it. I get excited about projects, but if I don't hit my goals by a certain point my interest wanes quickly and I just don't want to finish. I'm sure somebody can button this up and have a butt kicking car. I will be properly sad to see it go though.
