Those are a biotch to find in decent shape. You can get JDM SOHC EJ20s like this one for fairly cheap (ebay motors, search for "SOHC EJ20"), and they're a drop-in replacement and there really isn't a noticeable power loss. We've put several in here.
I also have one, needs head gasket and needs to be pulled from the car. Has somewhere around 180k on it, bought it for a build from a dealership and was used as a DD before I bought it. Drove it myself a handful of times but clutch is almost completely gone so can't say how it performs.
