So I have a 6.5 in lcd in my dash and I am wondering if there is a product out there that will allow me to display gauges electronically. There used to be a product my hks called the CAMP but i cant find it anywhere anymore. Any info would be much appreciated.
There are a few guys on openecu.org who have carputers that are running skinnable gauge setups. Basically it's nothing more than installing a small computer somewhere and then tapping into the obdII port. From there you can monitor whatever your heart desires. It's something I'd like to do down the road.
How much does that in car computer run, I am running an accessport now and I want to get the street tuner and display those #s somehow. Now the question is how????
There's a fellow on here (can't remember who, though) that is pretty knowledgeable on setting up carputers. Once that is in place, I could probably help out with getting some of the open source software running for you.
^^^^^^^ TECHY101 would probably be that guy seeing as he is hooked up with all the good stuff in his Forester.....
Sorry to go off-topic but... HKS is now making a piggyback? Talk about being 4-5 years too late, lol.
HKS has been making a piggyback for a while... actually they've been making multiple EM units for a while. Their the F-CON series... It looks like the new F-CON iS will have the video output. http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/electronics/com/fcon_is.html i haven't seen any specs or info on it on this side of the pond though beyond a tradeshow video i stumbled across. it's not nearly as cool as the CAMP system, but it's still pretty cool and useful.
