Saw this posted over on MNAutoX forums, thought MNSubaru might find it interesting. Looks like they are trying to build a 7/8 mile oval, drag strip and road course at Elko. http://minnesotaspeedwaypark.com/ (If this is old news, I apologize.)
"The facility would also include a drifting course, 150K-ft. exposition center, and hotels and restaurants. Plans to add courses for motocross, snocross and karting are also being considered." Sounds like something for everyone.
They've been talking about that for quite some time now. I'm hoping they at least pull off a road course.
HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! The only reason I laugh is that this will probably never happen. While I am 100% for this, I work in that area and have listened to all the b*tching about the race/dirt track that is already there. It baffles me how someone can move into the neighborhood where there has been a race track for 10+ years and complain about the "noise and pollution". They had the opportunity to have a huge motorcross/atv track built in that area for all the riders. It would have been a great bump for the town and the surrounding area's. Nope- all the old farts showed up and complained. Amazingly enough when asked how long they had been in the area.... average was 3-5 years. I wish people like these would be told to sit down and shut up. You moved into a town with a race track...... It is YOUR fault you didn't do more research about the area.... Now SUCK IT!! ....................tities!!
