EMERGENCY!!!! PLEASE HELP....

Hey guys. My dash lights don't work so I installed the halo reverse lights as an esay way out and they look great and work perfect. But in the proccess I screwed up my speedomoter and now it does not work. Please anyone help me in anyway if u work at a place where they fix these things get me a quote. If anyone know how to fix it please let me know, and everything has it's price...PLEAZE HELP..

 

Did you tap into a wire or cut something when you hooked up the "halo reverse lights?" (not sure what they are) If all else fails you can useally find a guage basil on Ebay for pretty cheap, maybe even knock a few miles off your car in the process.

 

What I think I did is screw up the spring that is there or it could be because I am having a hard time hooking up the speedomoter wire.

come underneath the dash and back behind the gauges, its almost the ONLY way to get it back on

 

I looking for the whole gague thing on ebay, if anyone finds one or knows of one in a junkyard please let me know...I am very very sad and mad that I messed it up and I want it fixed asap. So if anyone know or has an idea please let me know. Thanks alot for all ur help.

You are right erick I was able to skweze my hand through and I am able to completely stick it in, but it still did not work. And i found this...

But before I buy it I want u guys to take a loot at it tonight, because if it's just the wire not plugged then I just need to plug it but if it's the spring in it, then I heard it's really hard to fix...So plan on taking a look at my car. Thanks again..

 

if the cable is on it should work take the cover off the bezel and see if the needle is stuck because those overlay type gauges dont leave much room for them to operate

 

Yours is cable, so you need a cable one. Just so you know.... I wouldn't touch the dash ANYMORE after screwing up my fuel guage. hehehhe

 

Well....tell us what the problem is, is it reading a speed at all? is it wrong? it's hard to diagnose symptoms if we don't know what they are. I've had some experience with dashes on my cars (and my mom's leggy), but I have no idea what's wrong.

 

Yes. It does not read anymore. It's frozen on under 0mph. This is excatly my story. The Dash lights and middle consel lights don't work, I checked the fues and it's not them, I changed a couple of light bulbs and it still did not work, at that time everything worked like the speedomoter,etc..but the lights did not so I did not know how fast I am going at night. So I decied to buy this item

I knew it went over it so I opened everything up and I put on the one for the gas and cooling level, and tach but the speedomoter one did not fit right I tried to push in there but it would not work, then I did a stuiped thing and actully tried to unscrew the needle in the middle, but I found out that I messed it up..So now I am pretty postive that it is the spring inside, because I was haveing a had time putting in the speedomoter line but I believe I did and it still did not go anywhere. So now I am wondering is it fixable, like changing the spring, or do I need an new one. Which is ok becuase I found one on ebay but I would like to keep the same milage...

So that is basically it I got it in and now I can see at night but whats the point if the speedomoter does not work..
