    was just wondering were i could find a ref on all the diffrent engine sizes and codes that are in the all so mighty subz. ive been looking for a while and i thought it would be better to get some advice from the experts. oh and the most common swaps and what is swapable in to what kinda stuff too plz :)

    well swap wise pretty much anything EJ will swap into pretty much any subaru. when you start getting out of the EJ series and into the EZ or EG motors they will still work but need alittle extra care in installing them.

    EJ motors are from like 89-now.

    EJ22E (2.2l NA)
    EJ22T (2.2l Turbo)
    EJ207 (USDM WRX)
    EJ257 (USDM STi)
    EJ20G (Ver 1- 3 2.0l Closed deck excpet for late production and wagons)
    EJ20k (ver 4 STi)
    EJ20H (Legacy TT?)
    EJ18 (1.8l NA)
    EG33 (3.3l 6 cylinder, SVX)
    EZ30 (3.0l 6 cylinder, Legacy)
    EJ22G (2.2l Turbo, From 22B)

    chassie codes im guessing are al the same. \ and thanks for the info it really helped me out :biggrin:

    I believe the 02-05 wrx are EJ205
    The 2006-2007 wrx are EJ255 and also the 2007 STI is EJ255
    2004-2006 STI are EJ257

    what signifies a WRX from an STi is the last number.

    EJ205, EJ255 WRX
    EJ207, EJ257 STi

    now from my understanding there are sohc and dohc, what modles do they come with and how simple are swapping the heads? and i read that they have some thing like the VVT cams as well ?
